Edwards - a former defender at Bristol City, Preston, Blackpool and Exeter - was in his first managerial role following his three-year spell as a coach and then assistant manager at Exeter.
He was asked if he was concerned about his job after Saturday's loss to Plymouth and told BBC Radio Merseyside: "I'm worried. I've been worried for about five weeks.
"I was brought into the club in the summer, the club changed owners and now we're bottom of the Football League - it's not looking great is it?
"Whether I'm here or not, I think if you've got players in your side who don't want to fight and don't really want the ball, you're going to struggle - and that's what we've got at the moment."
There are 2 ex Rovers players in his team. The last sentence seems to ring a bell with us over the last few years. Co-incidence?

Only one as Woodards has been injured and Gill's their coach. Even Richards has only played from the bench recently.
Appointing Edwards as a manager always seemed a bit of an odd choice.

Worthington gone at York as well - Brunt will need to impress someone new.
