Changed my mind a bit about their penalty - Parkes had no business having his arm there. Silly boy.
Martin's chance at 2-1 wasn't quite as clear cut as I remembered but he still should have at least got it on target!
And if only that late free kick had hit the top corner...

Martin's miss doesn't look any better on second viewing to me, but I do admit he put in a couple of better crosses than I'd remembered in the first half.
Definite handball, it's a shame that we didn't get to see theirs to compare! And definite red card as well, he'd only just been booked for the very silly scuffle with Lockyer.
Real shame that nobody followed Brown's free kick in, it might have made no difference but it might have made it a lot harder to clear.

I noticed that our away videos have been of a higher standard than our home matches. Surely a club with our history can produce videos to match if not better the clubs at this level.

I'd have to agree with that, he couldn't seem to sort his feet out and consequently was off-balance. Not a very good advertisement for a full-time professional footballer, in my opinion. It was a soft penalty, but a definite penalty, and I just wish that we had a few like that going in our favour.

It is all ifs and buts .. but its another game where we could have put it to bed. I'm happy enough with a point, as we sorely missed Sinclair and looked second best on Saturday, but we need to finish games off.
Just off the top of my head I can think of situations where we would have taken games/put them beyond reach of opposition teams -
Taylor 1 on 1 against Grimsby @ 0-0 (+2 points) Taylor 5 yard header against Forest Green @ 1-0 (+2 points) Taylor 1 on 1 against Dover @ 1-0 (+2 points) Martin clear chance against Aldershot @ 2-1 (+2 points)
... Finish just two of those and we are joint top. The margins are small and the more I see of this division it is abundantly clear it isn't a very good one.
Show some intent, bring in a striker and get a bit more clinical, and we can return at the first time of asking.
