Well that was certainly two points dropped due entirely to our inability to take chances and kill teams off. However I am not going to down the team because their current form is very good and its not the end of the world and if we take 3 points on Tuesday then I would have taken 4 points from the two home games.
Puddy 6 Did as well as I expected. His distribution is so much better than Mildy but that is it really. Doesn't feel me with any confiden ce but he's ok as a reserve keeper.
Lockyer 7 Steady performance but still don't think he is a full back and IMO if you are looking as a full back then Leadbitter just edges it for me but to be fair he is doinga pretty good job.
Trotman 7.5 Solid as usual and becoming Mr dependable although involved in a right mess up with the keeper in the first half.
Parkes 8 For me back to somewhere near his best. Comfortable on the ball and strong in the air.
Brown 8 A storming game both defensively and going forward.
Gosling 6 Should have scored when he decided to cross the ball. Quite skilful but a little lightweight at times and should be attacking more.
Sinclair 8.5 Covered an amazing amount of ground and harrassed the opposition all afternoon. Tried to get the team moving forward and created the goal when his shot deflected to Cunnington.
Mansell 7 Kept battling and controlled a lot of the game from midfield and unlucky with a header. Leads by example and does a difficult job well when we are outnumbered in midfield.
Martin 6 Drifted in and out of the game like most wingers do. Seems to get a nose bleed when there is a sniff of a chance but put in some decent crosses.
Taylor 5 Just can't see a striker in him I'm afraid. Good movement and effort but spends too much time running around and away from goal however he should have killed the game off with the one against one but failed miserably and I am afraid DC must find a replacement as soon as possible as without a definite goalscorer every game is going to be a close run affair.
Cunnington 6.5 Needs a partner badly. scored again and won a lot of the ball but should have finished with a hattrick.
Harrison 6 Did reasonably well but would rather have seen him through the middle and in all honesty I would have started him upfront with Cunnington
Monkhouse 5 Looked off the pace but won a few balls in the air
DC 5 Could not understand his substitutions today as when Cunnington came off we lost the ability to compete with a tall backline. IMO should have started with harrison up front with Cunnington as Matty Taylor has been given more than enough games to score goals but really doesn't look like scoring. It seems to be another season where we don't have a striking partnership and therefore don't look like ever killing off the opposition. This must be put right immediately or there are going to be a lot of very short nails.
To conclude its a game that we should have won and deserved to win but until we kill teams off there are going to be a lot of games where there is only one goal in it to the end. It's not the end of the world and our unbeaten run goes on but we must win Tuesday to make up for todays result.
