I know this is posted on the match thread, but thought it merited a thread of its own:

And the video evidence confirms.........
Difficult to tell from this whether Mildy got a piece of the ball before the player or not
Not fully conclusive, but it looked like Puddy did handle outside of the area, but it would be a real stretch to say that that denied a clear goalscoring opportunity because of the position on the field and numerous defenders in position
Ollie Clarke's second yellow was for a nothing challenge - free kick yes, second yellow - pretty harsh

Some good points by East London on the other thread. Here's a few I can add:
1/ Mildy save was brilliant. 2/ Mildy sending off looked harsh. Difficult to see exactly what happened. My reading was their player touched it first and Mildy blocked it. If he touched their player it was certainly after he blocked it. If he touched their player it was because that player kept himself low to go down - similar to when strikers leave a trailing leg to dupe the referee. 3/ OC's strike was excellent. 4/ OC's 1st booking was a wreckless shoulder barge. OC's 2nd booking was clumsy. They seemed the sort of challenges that some referees get a card out for and others don't. And the 2nd one seemed one of those that referees might give if they aren't on a booking but waive if they are already on a booking. Perhaps OC slightly unlucky to see red. 5/ Will Puddy definitely slid slightly out of the area; what is difficult to see is whether he released the ball before it crossed the line. I think he probably did.
6/ Their Number 4. He was being booed from early on, so clearly had upset some Rovers fans. What he then did after scoring was completely moronic, and I'm surprised I've not seen mention of it before. Ran 2/3rds the width of the pitch, ignoring the congratulations of his team-mates, purely to goad the Rovers fans with a hand cupped over his ear. It's bad enough when players do that as they naturally run away from scoring, but to go so far out of his way to do so is just plain pathetic. Jamie Collins you've got some growing up to do.

Oh and what a big brave boy Jamie Collins is - running the width of the pitch to goad the Rovers fans after his goal.
Why referees will book a player for taking a shirt off or running into their own crowd, but do not punish this incitement is beyond me.
[edit: Sorry The Concept - you got there before me]

Thanks for posting. A truly brilliant strike from Ollie. Would've been easy to smash that high and wide when seeing the keeper slightly out of position. Some noise when that hit the back of the net!
Collins thought he was being clever but see he got a little shy and suddenly tailed off towards the corner flag in celebration, bless him.
Hope we don't see that ref again for a while. Utg

Loved Lee Brown cupping his hand to the Gasheads and doing a daft wee walk when Ollie scored mind.

Hate to agree with conference refs, but both the keeper decisions looked right to me. It doesn't matter if you get a bit of the ball, it can still be a foul if you take out the man. (Every time they say stuff like 'But did he get a piece of the ball' on football commentary it drives my nuts.)
Both Clarke's bookings looked extremely weak, though.

Can't disagree with the Mildy foul being given but on another day he'd have got away with a yellow as Parkes was pretty close to catching the bloke. As for the Puddy incident, it looks to me as though he may have handled it outside the area but equally as though he may have let it go just in time. Ref got that one right for me as it only would've been a guess on his part.
What a strike from Clarke though!

Have replayed it loads of time but still can't make a call on it. To me it doesn't look like the player actually dribbled past Mildenhall and it was just like a block challenge from Mildy and the player went over the top. I would add that the referee would not have had a good view of the incident from where he was yet made the decision very quickly. Overall he was a terrible official.

Fair play to the chaps who put that together, they could have copped out and showed nothing of our stuff but they bunged a fair bit in. Gutted they didn't chuck in the rendition of Irene as the players made their way back to the centre circle.
Still, the noise when Clarke's goal went in!!! Lovely!

Great post of edited highlights.
Here's my few eggs in non-linear format:
Collins was targeted early on by some of our fans shouting out comments, fair play he got his retribution, I thought he played quite well first half apart from him kneeing our player in back whilst he was on on floor getting up from the foul Collins had committed. Highlights don't show that.
Obvious push in second half where the unsubtle arm pushed Sinclair (I think) out. Highlights don't show that.
The corner where you can hear song 'you don't know what you're doing' was from a move where Eastleigh countered quickly, broke, and played ball across the box from the right, which just appeared to go out. Inexplicably the ref awarded a corner! In unison all our players around the area looked gobsmacked. As were we. I was stood where Ollie Clarke came up to celebrate his goal so freely admit didn't get the best view, but to me it seemed a baffling decision. Highlights don't show that.
Cunnington constantly being shirt pulled and man handled, especially from a Rovers throw in right in front of us. Highlights don't show that.
Puddy handballed outside box. Highlights show that.
Mildenhall fouled the fella (what the flip flops was Parkes up to playing a ball like that anyway? Looked like he was playing in flip flops!)....and it must have been a foul by virtue that if each and every one of you can look in your hearts and say if it was reversed, would there be a shout of 'OFF OFF OFF' ?? Highlights do show that.
Look fine, we know this division attracts some big physical players whom thrive on using their bulk. And that's being kind. I think that's what we have to put up with.
But inconsistency, that's a different matter. I saw a ref that got it wrong so many times last night as so many obvious fouls were missed. I can understand a feeling of incensement when it feels like it goes against you.
Yea yea yea conference standard football = conference standard officials. I know, I know.
Just seems all too often we are on receiving end of decisions, but I probably sound like every football fan in the country...

The stand being built at the end where the goals were scored looks like its gunna be huge! Will dwarf the rest of the stadium... bit like Walsall

Both Clarke's bookings looked extremely weak, though. maybe I think too much but i don't totally understand how people don;t know that at a footy match, after a pint or 8,with your mates, with your fellow fans, in an adversarial atmosphere, on a terrace where you can hardly see the corners, we will shout that x and y happened when it maybe didn't. in the heat of the moment we all says all sorts of rubbish I thought the ref wasn;t half as bad as people said. his big problem was fitness though. he was miles away form play a lot of the time.
