Mildenhall got the ball and should not have been sent off and Puddy clearly handled the ball outside the area (the lino put his flag up and then got an earfull from the crowd behind him so put it back down again), we had spineless officials who gave decisions to whichever players/crowd protested the most and loudest... it seems Mildenhall will only miss the Dover game so not that bad afterall i suppose. From what we have seen so far this season the difference in class between Mildenhall and Puddy is massive. In his debut at Barnet Puddy let a goal in under his body and set up another by saving a shot that was going wide straight into the path of a striker to score. At Eastliegh he should have saved their goal and then his positional sense let him down again and he was very very lucky not to get sent off for handling outside the area. Two very worrying games. If we are to win on Saturday we are going to have to score a fair few goals (4 should be safe) because I honestly cant see him keeping a clean sheet.

No chance of you starting a Will Puddy Fan Club anytime soon then, Feeling The Blues? But seriously, please remember that he is a reserve team goalkeeper playing for a Conference club, and I don't think that he is on any other clubs clubs radar. So on the occasions that Steve Mildenhall is unavailable then Puddy's not too bad a No 2 . . . is he? We could do better if we were prepared to pay, but as we either can't or won't (I think that the bulk of the goalkeeper budget is taken up by the first-team goalie), then Will Puddy is the man . . . like him or not.

Lucky not to get sent off?! What planet are you on?! Lee Brown didn't come in and kick the ball away for this one as well, did he? Not that he did for Clarke's either, mind.

We do need a better quality stand in than Puddy but as you say we probably aren't prepared to pay for it. If we are going to have any chance of promotion this year we are going to need Mildy to be available for pretty much every game. I honestly think that if it wasn't for Mildenhall getting sent off we would have won that game 1 nothing and we would have six wins on the trot under our belts. As it is I am far more nervous about Saturday than I would otherwise have been because I now feel that we will need to score a few to win.

Radio bristol just reported that we are NOT appealing Mildy's red card. Now that the dust has all but settled, and emotions returned to normal levels, that is what most people would have expected to happen. I wonder whether the club will continue with their threat to appeal Ollie Clarke's red card as well, or whether that will slowly slide off the list. You can't appeal a yellow card (even a second yellow card), unless its mistaken identity.
