Outstanding performance from the Rovers tonight. Players ran their bollocks off. I've never brought into this idea of blaming refs etc, however, the officials tonight were inept beyond belief!
I have been a huge critic of DC tactically but hats off to the way he shuffled the pack at HT and for large parts you would never have known who was playing with ten men.

Thanks for the link, did enjoy the commentary albeit 3.00am in the morning in Taiwan, broadcaster also gave Taiwan listener a mention which made me smile, thought was a good result and a massive team effort!, pleased as punch!....

Mildenhall would have been sent off for denying a clear goal scoring opportunity. He did that by getting the ball... Ollie Clarke was sent off for Lee Brown kicking the ball away and not touching a player (I was five yards away). Both instances the officials who gave the decision were on the wrong side. Clowns. Great hard battles point from Eastleigh, we were the better side. Mistaken identity, are you sure? That can be appealed

From where I stood, not far away, looked like Ollie was late into a challenge for the 2nd yellow, ref desperate to get the cards out despite the first yellow being equally harsh just a few minutes before. Not suprised he sent Mildy off he did dive in a bit and really gave a ref looking to do anything he could for the home side a chance to make such a decision.
Eastleigh big, strong, direct & quite good but did we battle and never gave up. DC changed to 3 at the back in 2nd half with Brown and Sinclair pushing up as WBs and it worked a treat getting us on the front foot. Mistake though not to start with Cunnington as Taylor and Gosling looked lightweight against their big men!
Good point!

DC had the tactics right tonight, official's were very poor. They crumbled with real supporters. We were 10 or 9 against 12 or 14 at times. Great team spirit and it was nice for the crowd to acknowledge DC.

That can be appealed The ball broke to Brown on the left hand side and promptly kicked the ball away. It was the second time in the game the ref booked the wrong man.

Decent point in the circumstances - you can see the touch of quality in all areas of this Rovers side. However means nothing without work ethic and passion. Both of these I believe we are now finding.

I have been a huge critic of DC tactically but hats off to the way he shuffled the pack at HT and for large parts you would never have known who was playing with ten men. Agreed. At half time I feared for our goal difference, but the second half was as good as it gets, given that we were a man down. Clarke`s decision to play the second half with two up front, seemed to completely confuse Eastleigh. It wasn`t what they were expecting, and at times they were reduced to hitting the ball long, which isn`t how to break down ten men. Everybody was superb second half, but a special mention to Lee Brown who ran non stop up and down the touchline, in front of the bulk of the travelling fans. Brilliant defending, and a constant threat going forward too. It was a good game in front of two sets of fans, who created a cracking atmosphere.

Rovers wanted it more than Eastleigh, all Eastleigh seemed concerned with was when they'd be getting paid. Great when the players came over at the final whistle for hi-5's and hugs.

Don't think Eastleigh were "reduced to hitting the long ball"... I think that is how they play. They are certainly not a footballing side but play to their strengths which is physical, good in the air and therefore long ball whether it be from the Goalkeeper or the defenders. We were the better footballing side when we did manage to bring the ball down but it is not easy when you get a constant aerial Bombardment. To be honest you don't see many players who you think " well hes a different class". For those who weren't impressed with the game saturday at Southport see GRIMSBY 0 SOUTHPORT 1!! We stand as good a chance as any of the top 10 to win this League and we still haven't seen Balanta. Personally feel it is absolutely vital to get our loan players on board January and if we haven't scored more goals it would be worth getting in a central midfielder who can run with the ball,a right winger and most important a goalscorer but for the present I have no doubt that this will be a reasonable season.

The way people who were there are talking about this it sounds like one of those character building games that can really define a season and produce a unified squad. Ie. 'Remember how we turned it round at Eastleigh v 11 men + the referee' etc. Sometimes that kind of fighting draw can probably be more beneficial in the long run than if we had gone there and had a regulation 1-0 win. I think it's telling that people have more to say and are more passionate about this result than they were about Southport where everyone seemed to go 'well we won which is good but the game was a bit meh'. Good stuff, bodes well. I'd say 1-1 at Eastleigh is a good result anyway especially with 2 very winnable looking home game coming up. I do wonder what will happen when sides start really parking the bus against us though.

Highlights courtesy of Eastleigh FC, just been posted guys: 1) Clearly not a foul by Mildenhall. Gets the ball first but bounces back off the striker to make it look like Mildenhall took his legs out first. - Tough decision to see that in real time. Youtube has the option to play at 25% of the speed and only then can you really see what happens 2) Puddy handball - great decision by the ref to not give it. Funny that Eastleigh fans saying he handled it 2 YARDS outside of the box. If you look at their fans the only ones that don't even appeal are the ones directly in line with the edge of the penalty area. Says it all for me. 3) What a strike. Great seeing that go in live but appreciate the strike even more on the highlights.

I really don't think that anything that appeared on the video suggested that Ollie Clarke should have been shown the red card. After all two yellows in four minutes, in the final five minutes of the game is quite unusual, and I believe on the evidence of the video quite unwarranted. Purely on the basis of the video I think that the ref failed to keep a level head, and he overreacted. I saw another video earlier in the evening where Clarke said the he had exchanged words with the ref prior to his dismissal, and felt that this had played some part in his sending-off. Cracking goal though, weren't it?

What was the official away support last night please I think I heard Keith Brookman, on Radio Bristol, say he took 106 back to return to Eastleigh, so it should be 994.

Clarke seemed to drive in for the second booking giving the ref the option to book him, I can't see he can really complain when he was already on a yellow.
As far as Mildenhall is concerned why would he miss the ball when he went into the tackle when it was simply running along the ground towards him? Although you can see why the ref thought it was a professional foul. Still think Rovers will do well to overturn that decision though.
