The only challenge York have this season is avoiding relegation, they are 21st and 2 points off the drop zone. Good luck to Ryan, will be very interesting to see how much gametime he gets, if he come's back here then hopefully it will be like having a new signing and the loan will help him rediscover himself.

I don't see anything strange in this. Unfortunately he just does not fit into our plans at this moment in time, especially with only five subs on the bench in the conference.
Good luck to him. He needs games and we need him to get games (regardless of whether we want to keep him or not)

"good luck" to a player who has shown no real interest in staying at Rovers this season? Assuming York are contributing towards his wages this looks a good move for both parties.

I would have said quite the opposite to that, but it's a case here of different strokes for different folks I suppose. I've thought for some time (since our relegation actually), that given the sort of contract that he is likely to be on, then it was only a matter of time before he was shipped out. I think that even if he had achieved 100% fitness earlier in the season, then he would have gone earlier. There is only one way in which he would have seen out his contract with BRFC, and that is by scoring a hatful of goals, and sadly he doesn't appear to be anywhere close to that at the moment. So initially it's for a month, and I wish him all the best that he has done for the club, and that includes his efforts to regain his fitness. It's a shame really.

dc gave him a chance in pre season and early season but try as he might he was way off the pace so although were probably paying at least half his wages this move could be good for everyone,,,,good luck ryan

Really? He's on loan so same contract & undoubtedly we'll be paying most of it, unless a money tree has just sprouted in the middle of Bootham Crescent. For some reason it looks like DC wants rid let's hope Cunnington is wanted back by Cambridge at the end of his loan.

Brunt was immense the season before last but just not the same player since his injury. We have a better option in Cunnington so the right decision for both parties.

Brunt clearly wasn't good enough, end of. Can't believe this sort of comment, whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, this is more than a bit harsh. As Crazytrain says, Brunt when he was fit and before his injury was a great player for us. For his sake, and possibly ours too, I hope he can get over his injuries and somewhere close to that level again.

Hence he didn't get back to UK until pre season hard yards already done. The non playing staff sit near us, and anyone who doubts Brunt's commitment to getting his career back on track clearly hasn't looked the bloke in the eyes. Frustrated doesn't begin to cover fact that we've hit form as he has returned to fitness and he cant get in the 16. Carry on typing.......

Brunt clearly wasn't good enough, end of. After reading that tosh I'm absolutely flabbergasted, you clearly have another agenda, or you're just stirring. But whatever it is, you do yourself no credit whatsoever. It's not as though you even take the time to justify your comments.

I may have my totally thick head on tonight but I don't get what you are implying. He hasn't been fit,he just can't shrug off the injury from early last season. just remember Oxford away. That Ryan Brunt is the one I know. Ploughed the loan furrow like no other.

When/if fit Brunt is a dangerous striker. Best case scenario he finds his feet at York, grabs some goals and returns to us a real threat.

Brunt came back when the side was still reeling from relegation, fact is he didnt have the sharpness or more importantly any service and was dropping back to deep to find the ball, our other strikers have faired no better our leading scorer has 2.I watched Forest Green quite a lot when the Gas have not been at home and stated at the begining of the season Matt Taylor would not score many and Jamie White was signed with DC saying he was fit then said he was a stone overweight. Cunnington could go back to Cambridge at any time so our priority has to find a striker who can score or hopefully two. So if Brunt comes back after playing a few it's got to be a good move for both parties especially if we wish to continue our progress up this awful league.

Let's see what he does at York, if he suddenly finds his form you do have to wonder what's been going on this season at Rovers. As surely a player struggling in the Conference needs to step down a league not up one?
The fact Parkes & Brown have made the England squad confirms this is clearly a weaker league.
