Good to see Eastleigh unable to sell tickets so they're asking us to do it for them.

Not sure what you mean Chewy. The away bit holds 1100 fans, so we have now requested the full entitlement. Eastleigh would not be allowed to sell these to home fans. As I understand it, they have less than 100 home tickets left.

Tinpot club in a tinpot ground soon to be bust.

exactly.
they never sold tickets to that terrace to their fans.
they were waiting to see what our demand was. entirely sensible.
this big headedness is going to get us no-where.
they have a limited following but it is growing. no need to sound all superior to them. we're in the same division.

this is what we need to focus on.
how good we are, rather any criticisms of the oppo.
800 is great especially as a few days ago it seemed to be stalling and people were suggesting quite a lot of the extra 200 were still left. A decent result on Saturday and I reckon Monday will see even more sold.

sorry to go off track a bit.....but where do we park ? the stadium is down a lane and the carpark isn't big enough so I presume there is overflow parking somewhere ?

Just noticed the Eastleigh FC website says the ground capacity is 3,000.
Wiki said the record attendance for the friendly against Southampton was 3,260, but Eastleigh FC says 3,191. I guess that was due to no requirement for segregation.
So if these extra 700 are on top of the 3,000 original capacity, it only needs a couple of hundred to go before a new ground record is set. I imagine the League record against Wimbledon has already been surpassed on current sales.
Whatever way you look at it, this is a club that a couple of decades ago were plying their trade in the Wessex League, and there is no denying they have been moving in the right direction.

Does all this mean their budget twice the size of ours is sustainable?

Well I just hope our management team get over very clearly to our players how big this game is to us and not have the nonsense again that we had at Braintree with their non performance. That said being a night game should make for a better atmosphere, I just hope our fans behave themselves and treat Eastleigh with the respect they deserve and don't bring disgrace upon our club as at Braintree.

I've no real idea about the budgets of either clubs Chewie, but I have been scratching my head for the past 10 years as to why we've been struggling to compete against the others with us having such larger crowds, let alone this year in the conference. As I say, until now they've been moving in the right direction : as you say, it may well be they've bitten off more than they can chew, and that spells an end to that. I did find you're description of them as 'Tinpot' harsh though - while we've been on the slide, they've been on the rise.

Well Dunford's response to that very question on Twitter was the stadium has been a very expensive exercise. Presumably the same applies to the Mem redevelopment and the other 149 failed schemes over the past 30 years.
It would certainly be very interesting to know exactly how much money has been spunked up the wall over the past 30 years. We are either extraordinarily unlucky or......?
