From the official site:
"07:51 23rd September 2014
Club warned over actions at Braintree As many of you are aware, we were reported to the Football Association (FA) after a skirmish behind the goal at Braintree last month, following the award of a penalty to the home side.
One so called Rovers supporter even managed to strike a Braintree player from his place on the terrace while one or two others rushed the perimeter barrier.
Once again, therefore, a small minority of so called supporters spoilt things for the majority of those who simply travelled to Braintree to support their team, and the good name and reputation of Rovers and their supporters was called into question.
Let’s be clear about this; any supporter who causes problems, home or away, is not wanted by this football club and will be banned from attending any games if it is proven that they have been responsible for any threatening behaviour towards opposition supporters or players.
We, as a club, are responsible for the behaviour of our supporters both home and away, a point which many fans are unaware.
On this occasion we have received a strong warning from the FA, but disciplinary action is likely to be taken against us should there be any further reports of misconduct by Bristol Rovers supporters.
Our safety officer spent many hours in discussions with club officials at Rovers and Braintree and considered video evidence of the incident before preparing a statement for the FA.
We ask all supporters to remain vigilant and to report any misconduct to stewards."
I'll admit, I feared worse.
Small grounds, inexperienced stewards and policing - I'm gonna sound like a nanny, but I think we all need to take it easy at away games for the rest of this season.

Sigh of relief, expected the conference to really make a statement.

I agree - I think any right minded Rovers fan would. But still ... you're going to get the wazzocks on here in a minute saying something like "Not being funny but do the FA even know or understand anything about the passion of football supporters?!?! LMAO".

Not before you get the usual obsessed inbreds from BS3 spouting the usual 'family club' claptrap.
Good move by the FA and the club.

So can I take it that the matter which occurred on the 6th of September has been dealt with, but the issue of Rovers appeal regarding Wycombe Wanderers from last season, has still to be addressed? Surely at some point there should be an answer to the question, whatever that answer might be.

So has the infamous Barry been banned then? I found it pretty strange that people in certain circles who would be the first to want the bloke be brought to task have been very quiet over the whole issue, both on here and, moreso Gaschat. You would have expected better from these upright citizens from past rantings but there you go.

Because if he had been then we would all have been told in no uncertain terms, hung out to dry so to speak.

so many people on here have defended the incident at braintree and the events v mansfield that i feel pretty sure another little excursion on to the pitch is just a matter of time.

People have been banned from the ground and got football banning orders for 3 years for running on the pitch after the final whistle and giving verbals yet you can clump a footballer through a goalnet and,so it appears, get away with it!

I think it has to be said if you can't control the red mist then don't go. I wasn't aware of any incidents at FGR and there were over 1800 of us there. The message is keep off the pitch and keep your hands to yourself regardless of what is going on the pitch....we've had our warning......
