Now then!
I've just moved down to Bristol to attend UWE so I'm gonna be adopting The Gas as my second team (if you'll have me!).
I was just wondering:
What is the best stand for atmosphere?
Where is the best pre-match drinking?
Cheers guys

Atmosphere, what is this?
Try the Wellington before the game and the blackthorn end.

If you like a sing song go to the blackthorn end
Club house for a drink if you want to support the club or the Welly just up the road if you don't
Also the Pasties in the ground are things of love
BTW WELCOME TO THE GAS !

Welcome to the Gas. I am sure you will receive a warm welcome from all Gasheads. It is the Welly or Club House bar for pre match drinking; and stand on the blackthorn end, behind the goal, for noise, atmosphere, etc. ... UTG

Ah, I didn't realise it was against them... I love that goal so much, I went bloody mental when he scored it. Legend.
Don't worry, we'll give em a couple of spankings this season on your behalf

Northend for terrace atmosphere but it's a friendly place all round, decent seated view from up in the drybuild, behind dug outs.
And loads of pubs down Gloucester rd if you fancy a mini pub crawl up towards welly.

Welcome, Hope you have as much fun as I had when I moved to Bradistan many years ago, when I used to watch The Bantams with my neighbour as my second team ( but I never could get used to shouting "Come on City"). That was the season before The Bantams entered the premiership. Dean Windass has been a legend in Bradistan for years hes just as much one at the Mem too.

I would shake the hand of a guy in the blackthorn with a Windass shirt, I might actually get a Bradford shirt for this sole purpose.

Welcome Bristol Bantam, get in the North Enclosure (used to be called the Blackthorn End) and enjoy the banter. Behind the goal halfway up the terracing (yes, we still have terracing). You'll soon get used to a lot of our songs but start learning the words to Goodnight Irene, Goodnight, I'll see you in my dreams, it's the club anthem. And yes Dean Windass will always be a hero to us Gasheads, was in a pub in Monmouth watching that game with two other Bantams, screamed the place down when that went in and at the final whistle.

They will not understand 'one of each and some scraps' in the chip shop. My wife sends me into our local chip shop with the money wrapped in a note. The note explains what I'm asking, because of my Bristol accent. Being yorkshire, they all look at me with endearment (I hope)..like a foreign lad from 'down south' who's doing his best....(mind you, this is East Yorkshire....)
