Is this thread ever-so-slightly Current Affairs, bs5? You'll be asked to hand your e-mail address in, if you're not careful.
But while I'm here, what about Wee 'Eck then, eh?

Also what an unpatriotic snake that Cnut Andy Murray is Unpatriotic because he wanted independence for his country? You can argue against independence, but to accuse someone who wanted it as being unpatriotic is bizarre!
Oh, and just to keep it relevant to general football chat- Mon The Hoops

Also what an unpatriotic snake that Cnut Andy Murray is I bet you were one of those knobs doing his nut when Murray won the Olympic Gold, US Open and Wimbledon. In a democracy Murray is entitled to vote however he likes and it is predictable that dim witted English morons are having a go at him for it.

"In a democracy Murray is entitled to vote however he likes" No he isn't, he doesn't live in Scotland so COULDN'T VOTE.

So he didn`t vote and he still gets abuse from the neanderthals? Aawww bless, I bet he's wondering what he's done so wrong to get "abuse" from a bunch of "Neanderthals" on a little footy forum based in Bristol..? Mean while, pleasantly surprised that on the same forum he's found himself a wonderful little cheerleader. ZFC takes time out from his hectic cheer leading duties to take this selfie and send it to Andy. *HINT* You could've got a new outfit instead of your old Rovers one though.

So he didn`t vote and he still gets abuse from the neanderthals? I did my nut when he won Wimbledon and the US open, but not at him winning, at the brain dead and desperate English media insisting that we all cheer for someone who is Scotish, proud to be Scottish and given a choice would only represent Scotland. And his attitude to the Union puts to bed once and for all and lingering doubt that he was in fact serious when he said that he would support 'anyone but England'. (that's the football reference to keep admin happy)

Yet he plays Davis Cup tennis for Britain and won Olympic Gold for Britain.
In tennis like golf the British players represent Britain. Faldo was classed as British the same as Woosnam,Jacklin Lyle and Montgomerie.
Fred Perry was a British tennis player the same as Virginia Wade and Sue Barker.Murray isn`t English and has never claimed to be, I cannot see what the problem is as he always represented Britain in tennis. As I said the numbskulls believe the bullsh #t urban myth about him wearing a Paraguay shirt.
I`m English born and bred and I wanted England to lose every game at World Cup 2010.

Where's the debate?

But Scotland is part of Britain what part of that do you not understand? But it wouldn't be if Murray had his way. He wants to represent Scotland, a Scotland independant of England and the rest of Britain. Nobody is saying that's wrong, it's just fine, good for him, but for the English media to try to claim him as one of their own and to insist that he's 'our boy' is plain stupid, he isn't, and he doesn't want to be.

Nothing would have changed for Murray had the yes vote won.He still would live in England and would play Davis Cup tennis for Britain.
I cannot recall anyone in the press claiming him to be English as he isn`t but he is British.

Murray will always be British, because he is from the British Isles, I think people aren't grasping the difference from Britain as a place and the United Kingdom as a state.

You cant grasp the difference between The British Isles, Britain & United Kingdom. The difference between The British Isles & The Uk is The Republic Of Ireland. The difference between Britan & The United Kingdom is Northern Ireland & The republic Of Ireland.

It's nothing to do with existing geographical boundaries, it's to do with the fact that Murray is Scotish and wants an independant Scotland to represent, rather than representing Britain.
