I don't know whether anyone is following on twitter, but a Rovers fan was seriously injured in Lincoln last night. Allegedly, he was glassed by 2 people. What is most disturbing is the initial reaction of the Lincoln police, who still don't want to know. Surely there is an obligation to investigate such a serious attack.
It was feared that the lad had been blinded in one eye, but it is now hoped that his sight will recover.
Please see @j_Green46 for the latest.

In the Lincoln playoff game a few years back it was a similar situation. After the game the police usher you back along the river but stop you getting back across the river to the high street. They force you further along the river where you get pelted with stones and bottles by kids over the other side of the river. By this time the police have disappeared. Then you get to the end of the little riverside lane where you are met by weapon brandishing thugs waiting to give you a good going over. In the corner of the alley you'll spot a couple of coppers with a camera filming it all with big grins on their faces. When you confront them they tell to go away or get arrested. They were just interested in catching the away fans "fighting" but the reality was we had bottles being thrown on one side and had to force are way out the other. I had my pensioner dad with me ffs.
I'm pretty sure this is a routine for every home game. For those who were there at the front after the playoff game, do you remember the frying pan?

My son follows him on twitter and says he was tweeting all our players asking them to RT his tweet. At the time I was told only Mansell had but later on @j_green46 was saying that the club (us) don't care. I understand getting players to RT will raise awareness but surely contacting the club directly over the phone would be more effective.

But to blame the players for not RT'ing is a bit out of order imo. Hope his friend recovers but saying ''Good to know that your team you went to support on Saturday and mate ends up being bottled and currently lost sight in 1 eye dont wana help!'' is silly as I doubt the club is avoiding him.

Do I remember the frying pan. Yes I bl**dy well do, still got the scar, bit fainter now mind, above my eye. I remember that incident well, I can still hear a mate of mine shout, 'Men to the front, women & children to the rear'! And then it kicked off, and not being proud but did they run. However then came the lights out moment............ Happy days UTG

A bit different to the Stoke fan who got caught with a chainsaw at Cardiff a few years back. LOL

I don't know James, so I hope he won't mind me publicising his mate's plight on here. You can clearly see the initial frustration with Lincoln police, Lincoln City and Rovers that he was experiencing in the circumstances. You can also read that there was contact with Brian Seymour-Smith yesterday and I would hope some form of assistance is being provided out of the public glare today. I would also hope somehow that this would lead to proper investigation by the appropriate authorities into what sounds a very serious incident.

Yes I did but this was after he had tweeted almost every player of the first team squad. Regardless, I believe he tweeted about an hour and a half ago that Avon and Someret police helped him get in touch with lincolnshire police.

Why did he message the players, what was he expecting them to do?
