Okay, first I'd like to say that I'm very skeptical of Harrison even now, because I tend to not believe in football troublemakers finding their way back to sportmanship and good performances.
That said, Harrison has gracefully accepted DC's reintegration of him in the squad, especially because even if he was transfer listed, shockingly (for him only, I think), no clubs came forward and he had to watch as his pal Alefe got signed to a much bigger team. Then he started being put on the bench practically every game and has been getting the odd sub in.
Then, today, with the team on the verge of throwing away what sounded like an easy victory at the beginning, Harrison scores 3-2, salvages what was left of our away record and everybody goes home happy.
My question is: Do you believe that the boy was shocked back into reality, or was it just a fluke?

I think that it was a combination of a young man, who is (hopefully) maturing into adulthood, assisted by the recent good news from the judicial system. Does any of us really remember what it was like to be a young man? From what I remember of it, it was pressure from all sides.
Good luck to Ellis, I hope that he does well, both for us and himself.

Decent management. DC's approach has forced Ellis to think about what he wants from his career and he seems to be working hard to repay that faith. It would have been all too easy for him to be frozen out once he'd been listed (PT would never have had him at the ground again!) but he's obviously seen something in him that can benefit the team and now the team have benefitted from 4 points extra in the last few weeks because of him.
Keep it up DC and Ellis.

Keep it up DC and Ellis. DC man management skills are spot on, he's honest, hard but fair in his treatment of players. Funny how DC was slated for his treatment of Harrison when it was exactly what Ellis needed. DC also went public with his criticism of Parkes, and he came back after the summer 2 stone lighter. Leadbitter has been given some time out from the firing line, and the protection DC has given him has worked a treat today.

Leave him alone, he got the winner and with more confidence he will grow up. We were all young once.

Like the team Harrison still has lots to prove and the faith lost will take a lot of winning back.Trouble is many people have run out of patience, totally understandable imo,but time is needed and we will lose more games it's a fact.My biggest reason for optimism is that our opponents I've seen have not been better than us and most of them are doing well or are fancied to do well,so the small forward steps we've taken in the last 2 games do have the chance to blossom into something much better.Turley,if he signs and Balanta should strengthen us further so things are looking up on the field anyway at long last.

I'm pleased how he's looked sharp when coming on as a sub. ultimately it;s still just being a sub in non-lge though.

I think the jury is still out. He's clawed his way back to where he was 18 months ago, at the end of the season before last if after that comes what he produced last season then he's doomed. If he becomes the player we're hoping, he can either go with us up the divisions or go with another club. Time will tell. But he looks miles above where he was last season, so good trend right now

I would very much like to think so. The expectation last year was clearly excessive. At this level and with his head right he looks decent. And 2 last minute winners is a pretty decent start...

Harrison, like Santos, was thrown into the deep end by Ward after a few good games at the end of 2012/13. All of that summer I said we needed two experienced wingers to take the pressure off those two, but the reinforcements never came. It was naive to assume that they could be our first choice wingers in a promotion chasing side for all 46 games.
It's easy to see why Harrison then suffered from alleged attitude problems. Few good performances and suddenly he's touted the next best thing and given a (presumably expensive) 3-year-deal. His agent was probably pushing for a move too. That sudden change, for a teenager, is huge.
I'm sure Clarke won't make the same mistake by making Ellis the 'main man' now and heaping pressure on him - he's still young. Much better to slowly ease him back into it, get his confidence growing. Personally I still think Matty Taylor will come good and start scoring soon, and having Ellis as an option on the bench would be great for both him and BRFC.

Credit to the management for the way they have handled him. He is a perfect example of why we should no longer be giving youngsters high paid long contracts anymore just because they had a good couple of games. I doubt any other league two club would have been stupid enough to give such a deal and many people believe this is what caused many of the problems. He is now our (joint) top scorer and as I dont believe we have many players if any who can get ten goals this season he could very well stay there. His next target is to force his way into the starting 11.

After his stunning hat-trick (plus 2 assistances if I'm not mistaken), even though against a weak opposition, I raise the question again.

Sorry, still a work in progress to me. He's ok with the ball on a plate but even today he was still not battling for the ball. Three or four times in the second half he lost the ball and vented his frustration without turning and trying to get the ball back.
Still too arrogant for me and not yet proved what he has to be arrogant about. That said he scored three and that is what we need most at the moment. If he keeps his head screwed on he could still make it, but nowhere near yet for me.
