Was played in my house as a kid. Very sad song which doesn't pull any punches. Classic Don. The 'favourite ' comment above is not mine, but still love it.

not heard this too often, Thanks for that - not heard this in ages... Mummer and The Big Express are brilliant albums and tragically over-looked. And I've never seen that video - looked expensive, and so it seems en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_ExpressI think I've mentioned this somewhere else on this thread - XTC are the most under-estimated band in the history of rock and pop IMHO. Well, certainly bands from Swindon anyway...

A serious band who didn't take themselves too seriously but were very good, more than just Down Under. This is in fact my favourite of theirs.
Just a classic example of the talent around in the early 80s. What a period for bands.
It's a mistake Be Good Johnny Who Can It Be Now Dr Heckyll and Mr Jive
among others..

Ah July 4th. A toss up between Jimi Hendrix version of the Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock, or Sham 69. Musically, Jimi does rather edge it... but... we ARE going down the pub. So Hurry Up Harry.

Marc Almond was (still is) a great talent. An argument to say this is a better vocal than Tainted Love.

Bodyguard was good. I like Keeley Hawes....
