Must admit, I did get a bit caught up in gold cable connectors and oxygen free cables, but never the high end stuff. CDs are still black magic as far as I'm concerned. You cannot get better than the CD as especially the SACD. The compression rate is much better than anything that is streamed. I’ve tried the high resolution streaming services but they just don’t do it. I guard my collection and would not be without it. I also fell for the cables but the salesmen would always turn the sound up a little, to take it sound like there was a difference. I dread to think of how much I wasted on that and then then connectors themselves & then cable risers, so that these wonder cables never touched the floor or got close to other cables. I went as far as having a dedicated electrical spur that was solely for my kit 😂. A fool & his money eh You are Katayama San and I claim my 500 Yen

If you ever want to see real argument and nastiness then go have a look at any of those. I’ve been given periods of being unable to post & because I’ve given advice so that many don’t waste their money. I was spending over 1.5K pm when the then she devil decided to count up my spend & it wasn’t like she was not being spoiled either.

And for today's tune... Squeeze. It was a toss up between Another Nail in my Heart and Pulling Mussels from a Shell (brilliant lyrics, the UK holiday summed up in song). But I've gone for the former. Didn't realise how good Glen Tilbrook was on guitar. Tilbrook and Difford, brilliant song writers. Enjoy.

James Marshall Hendrix re-inventing the electric guitar. Lead, rhythm and vocals. Johnny B Goode. Play loud.

Sigur Ros. Hoppipolla. They made up their own language. Marvellous:

I thought Pete Perrett was from Bristol? His wiki entry doesn't seem to think so. Ah well... great track.

Motorhead. Ace of Spades - over-played. Toss up between Bomber and Overkill. I'll give it to the former. Classic line up of Lemmy, Fast Eddie and Philthy Animal Taylor.

One for St George's Day.. The title track to a tragically under-rated album. Derided as the stuff that didn't make the cut for "The Kick Inside". I owe finally scraping through my degree down to revising to "The Hounds of Love" and "Lionheart" on a never ending loop for about 3 months.

Damn. Got too drunk watching Darkest Hour and was getting very stressed that Churchill might lose support of the House. And forgot to post a tune. Last tune posted was Motorhead: "Bomber". An interesting juxtaposition - Penguin Cafe Orchestra: "Perpetuum Mobile".

The above is very unusual: "written in the 15/8 time signature, the melody seems to end and repeat one beat sooner than expected, giving it the feel of a perpetual motion device". And in a similar vain... I give you... The Stranglers: Golden Brown (written in 13/8). Crazy.

Several badly played old vintage instruments and gurning on stage, must be something done for a laugh that's got out of hand and now it's one of those Emperor's Cloths things that nobody is willing to stand up and call out for the utter garbage that it is. Next post is some proper music.

Vice Squad were still doing their thing a year or so ago.
Doubt if any of the rubbish from BGT will last 40 years.

Beki Bondage (and Wayne Hussey for that matter) both went to The Ridings (Winterbourne). Not really a fan of either to be honest. I agree nothing from BGT (though I actually think you mean the X Factor and/or The Voice which are both more "music" based)... will be around in 40 weeks, let alone 40 years. So we're agreed on that.

Is there a difference, X-factor, BGT, The Voice (although I thought that was a character in a rather good film staring Denzel Washington), it's all garbage. Think I've said earlier in this thread, Susan Boyle wouldn't get booked twice at the local pub, here's how that song is done properly,
