BRISA

dinsdale asked some time ago, "what happened to BRISA?" The thread, in the end, got hijacked by the usual pelters at other board members. It was a serious question and really needed answering.
BRISA was not set up for demonstrations and overthrow, but as a way to campaign for issues to improve the club beyond the benign, yet fantastic, work of BRFC SC. Lemming like, board members of this forum rushed to join and proudly boasted they had, without really knowing the make-up of the personnel behind BRISA. Things have surely not changed with the board and the club, if anything the situation is getting worse.
Times of disillusionment and frustration are fertile grounds to establish/supplement organisations, such as in the UK in the 20s or Germany in the 30s. Yet things have gone very quiet and the BRISA meeting attracting 18 would not have helped.
The Welly 3 were high profile, proactive and credible, but there appears little interest in all three joining BRISA, and the 50 or so attendees at the Welly meetings do not really constitute a formal group.
There is a constitution, a list of aims/campaigns, a database of 'members' and obviously a core group, so please, someone from BRISA, what is going on, what are the next steps, how are the campaigns to be started?
(PS I really want an independent association. I do not sit behind the keyboard, I attended the two Welly meetings, the EGM and the Q&A each a 200 mile round trip, blah, blah, blah.)

I think there are three lads running BRISA. I don't know the forum handles of two of them but I do know the Strung Out is definitely one of the main leaders/organisers.
My own opinion? Not enough people are willing to do anything and it's on life support (just).

BRISA has been thawarted by a lack of help , a meeting between a few involved will be held this week to see where it goes from here, but without the help of others it will be doomed to failure as it is currently being run by just 2 people and that cant work sadly.... anyone wanting more info should email bristolroversisa@gmail.coman update will come soon i'm sure, appologies to those that expected and wanted more biut running something like this will need the help of its members and despite numerous requests for help its still just 2 of us doing the donkey work. We are involved in a meeting this week which we hope will make it clearer what the plan for the future is!

Don't take this as criticism but you need a face, a leader, to react to goings on at BRFC when they happen.
I appreciate that 2 or so of you are doing the work behind the scenes but take the Sainsbury's news as an example - BRISA put out a tweet:
"Following todays news re the mem/sainsburys. BRISA will be seeking the ideas & thoughts of the members as too our reaction & way forward"
You need to be able to act more quickly.
