Time for Wilshere to get on the phone to Scholes again and ask for advice on keeping the ball.
Wilshere as much use as Geoff Thomas and Carlton Palmer in the first half.

Each keeper has made good saves, Wellbeck should have set us up better and Delph is lucky to still be on the pitch.

Time for Wilshere to get on the phone to Scholes again and ask for advice on keeping the ball. Wilshere as much use as Geoff Thomas and Carlton Palmer in the first half. You do make I laff. OK, Wilshire was poor in the first half, but he didn't phone Scholes for advice, he actually phoned him for an explanation of his stupid comments. Who would want advice from one of Ferguson's thugs? To give you some context here, Jack says that the advice he was given by loud mouthed, self centred vainglorious, attention seeking Robbie Savage was more help than anything Scholes had to say. That would be the same Robbie Savage who was part of the worst team ever in Premiership history. If you watched anything other than Utd you would know that Wilshire's game is based around holding the ball and releasing it at the last possible second, he gets injured doing that, but as long as he's surrounded by intelligent players then it's highly effective, but unless his team mates move into the space created by him drawing 2 or 3 opponants then he'll lose the ball more often than not. Looks like it ended Utd cast offs to make way for £60,000,000 mercenaries 2 Switzerland 0. Can't wait to see what Welbeck is capable of when he's coached properly.

Nothing to do with coaching Welbeck has bags of natural ability Ferguson could see it and Arsenals gain is certainly Uniteds loss.
United should have flogged RVP back to Arsenal.

Nothing to do with coaching Welbeck has bags of natural ability Ferguson could see it and Arsenals gain is certainly Uniteds loss. United should have flogged RVP back to Arsenal. That deal was on the cards, RVP had been speaking to Wenger, but the new manager at Utd changed everything. I'm hearing that his old injury problems are back again, looks like he may be past his 'Best By' date? Have to say, given the fees paid this summer, £14 or 16m for Welbeck looks like good business. Utd continue to be linked with high price tag players, the spending this season could top £200m. For what it's worth, I think Aloysius Paulus Maria van Gaal is the right man for the job. Give him this season to stabilise things and Utd will be a force again next year.

Premiership politics aside, it was nice to see some signs of recovery after the summer. A very young side but a good away performance, not perfect but everyone put in a good shift. Cahill was superb, again.

What happened to Jack Wilshere last night? The team sheet said that he was playing, but his contribution amounted to very little. Am I the only person who thinks that it's about time that he rolled his sleeves up, and got (proverbially) stuck in?
He seems to be more comfortable when he's relaxing on the beach, rather than when he's playing.
