The Bristol Rovers History Group will be celebrating the historic 1974 promotion season with an exhibition of memorabilia at their Annual History Day on Saturday 9 November. Located in The Thatchers' Bar between 12:30pm and 2:30pm before the Rovers match against Lincoln City, fans can view a display of Rovers memorabilia, focusing on the 50th anniversary of gaining promotion to Division 2 in 1974, with the event free to all. There will be photos, programmes and match reports from the promotion season to include our amazing 8-2 away win at Brian Clough's Brighton, where seven of those goals came from the famous 'Smash and Grab' team. Other Rovers memorabilia will also be on display including several collections recently donated: a 1990’s signed shirt, a commemoration bowl and items from the collection of 1950’s Rovers player, Len Pickard. There has been a tremendous response from the players of that promotion team and we are delighted to welcome 4 members of the 1974 team to include Peter Aitken, Jim Eadie, Frankie Prince and Tom Stanton. The ex-players are looking forward to meeting you, the fans to chat and sign autographs. The History Group looks forward to seeing you on Saturday!

There will also be a raffle £1 per ticket (cash only) I'm afraid for some football books and other prizes.
