Are you a Poppy wearer, leading up to November 11th?
I am.
I think it very important to remember those that made the greatest sacrifice and to remind ourselves of the abject horror and misery war brings. You of course don't need to wear a Poppy to be aware of the madness of war.
Hopefully it lessens the chances of more wars, than exist now.

A pity that lib/lab/con politicians attend the Cenotaph on Remembrance day,it should be a day to remember the dead and wounded of war not something that politicians use for publicity.
Sad that I dont see as many Poppy sellers about these days. I am usually at the gym on a sunday morning, they announce when its 11 o'clock over the tannoy and you can stand silent, some do some dont,a lot of the students dont, last year the trainer who started wearing a white/black shemagh in October did stand silent which surprised me.

Lack of visible poppy sellers is down to ( partially) the amount that get mugged for their collection tins, we gave a donation to a collector in a local garden centre she had an array of pin badges and poppies and the option to make a SO or DD for monthly donations

For all serving or ex-RM who may be reading this..... Happy Birthday Royal. 360 years old today. My father-in-law was a Royal Marine Commando at the start of WW2 and went all the way through. He used to have nightmares about the time he was on a ship that sank in Norwegian waters and he was saved by the Resistance there. My great uncle who was in the RM Light Infantry died in 1915 at Gallipoli. Great respect for them.

This year I will be attending the ceremony in Fowey (Cornwall). Last year I was in Truro, but that was not a very good one.
