Match report by Mike Peter, BBC Sport JournalistOpener Evin Lewis blitzed 94 as the West Indies hammered England by eight wickets in the first one-day international in Antigua. The Trinidadian led from the front, striking five fours and eight sixes in his 69-ball innings, driving his side to within sight of their rain-revised target at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, falling shortly before the end as he attempted to bring his century up with a six. His side were chasing a modest target after an inexperienced visiting line-up posted just 209 inside 46 overs, with left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie taking 4-41. Stand-in captain Liam Livingstone struck 48 from 49 deliveries, putting on 72 for the fifth wicket with Sam Curran (37), but they were the only two batters to pass 30 as England struggled to find their rhythm. With the ball, England seamers Jofra Archer and John Turner, one of four debutants in the side, frequently troubled Lewis and his fellow opener Brandon King, bowling at high pace and drawing edges. However they were unable to make a breakthrough and Lewis began to settle, clearing the leg-side boundary on five occasions as he reached 50 from 46 deliveries. Rain took the two sides off shortly afterwards, but when play resumed with the home side's target adjusted to 157, Lewis carried on where he left off, falling with his team 13 short of a win. Captain Shai Hope came to the crease and hit the winning runs in the 26th over to complete a comprehensive victory. The two teams will meet again at the same ground on Saturday (13:30 GMT), before a final ODI in Barbados on Wednesday. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/11/01/02/91539899-14027991-image-a-17_1730427747814.jpg Jayden Seales took two for 22 as the West Indies bowled England out for just 209

Match report by Adwaidh Rajan, BBC Sport journalistA spectacular maiden one-day international century from stand-in captain Liam Livingstone helped England defeat West Indies by five wickets and take the three-match series to a decider. Chasing a formidable 329 to win in Antigua, Livingstone's 124 from 85 balls saw the tourists home with 15 balls to spare. Phil Salt and Jacob Bethell had hit half-centuries before the captain and Sam Curran's resilient fifth-wicket partnership left England needing 100 runs from the last 10 overs. Livingstone brought up his fifty in 60 balls before accelerating to bring up three figures just 17 balls later. Earlier, Windies captain Shai Hope had scored 117 from 127 balls to help the hosts rebuild after losing both openers early. Hope was ably supported by Keacy Carty (71) and Sherfane Rutherford (54). It means the series will be decided in the third and final ODI in Barbados on Wednesday.

Match report by Adwaidh Rajan, BBC Sport journalistWest Indies claimed a series victory over England after defeating the tourists by eight wickets in the third and final one-day international in Barbados. Keacy Carty and Brandon King both scored impressive hundreds as West Indies cantered home in pursuit of 264 with seven overs to spare. Sint Maarten batter Carty blitzed his way to his maiden international ton in 97 balls and stayed unbeaten on 128, while King made his third ODI century in 113 balls. England’s 263-8 had looked reasonably healthy considering they crumbled to 24-4 in 10 overs. Phil Salt’s watchful 74 dug them out of a hole with Sam Curran scoring 40 and Dan Mousley impressing with his maiden ODI half-century. Jamie Overton added 32 while Jofra Archer remained unbeaten on 38 as England recovered to post a total which had looked challenging until the intervention of King and Carty. With Jos Buttler returning as captain, England will hope to regroup as they prepare for a five-match T20 series, which begins at the same venue on Saturday.

Match report by Matthew Henry, BBC Sport JournalistPhil Salt powered a superb century to take England to a commanding eight-wicket victory over West Indies in the first T20 in Barbados. After a disappointing defeat in the one-day international series, Salt struck an unbeaten 103 on the island he used to call home as England cruised to a pursuit of 183. It was the opener's third T20 hundred for England - all three of which have come against West Indies in the past 12 months. He crashed his first 50 runs in just 25 balls as England took 73 from the first six overs for the loss of only Will Jacks for 17. Captain Jos Buttler was sensationally caught for a golden duck on his return to the side after four months out injured but Salt continued, dropping down the gears with the required run-rate under control, as England pulled off the highest T20 chase at the Kensington Oval with 19 balls to spare. Jacob Bethell, another with Bajan roots, finished unbeaten on 58 from 36 balls alongside Salt, in the process becoming the youngest man to hit a T20 fifty for England aged 21. Earlier, West Indies made their imposing total in remarkable fashion, reaching 183-9 despite falling to 18-3 and 117-8. They managed a further 65 runs in the last 5.2 overs after the eighth wicket fell, with number 10 Gukadesh Motie, who later produced the stunning catch to dismiss Buttler, flogging 33 from 14 balls. That came as England lost their grip despite a strong start to the innings, with Saqib Mahmood taking 4-34 and Adil Rashid 3-32. The second of five T20s begins on Sunday at the same ground from 20:00 GMT. England will wait on the fitness of Reece Topley, who left the field visibly emotional after jarring his knee midway through his third over - the latest blow to a bowler who has had a cruel run of injuries throughout his career.

Sunday 10th November - International Twenty20 Match - Venue: Kensington Oval, Bridgetown - England won the toss and decided to field
West Indies - 158-8 (20 overs) Powell 43, Extras 29, Shepherd 22, Livingstone 2-16, Mahmood 2-20
England - 163-3 (14.5 overs) Buttler 83, Jacks 38, Livingstone 23 not out, Shepherd 2-42
England win by 7 wickets
Match report by Sam Drury, BBC Sport journalist
Jos Buttler smashed a blistering 83 from 45 balls as England cruised to a seven-wicket win over West Indies in the second T20.
The England captain came in after Phil Salt was dismissed from the first ball of the tourists' chase and proceeded to hit eight fours and six sixes in a stunning knock.
Buttler dominated a 129-run stand with opener Will Jacks before the pair fell in the same Romario Shepherd over.
However, the damage had been done and the visitors went on to overhaul West Indies' 158-8 with 31 balls to spare.
England are 2-0 up in the five-match series after victory in both matches in Barbados and now head to St Lucia for the last three games of the tour.
Earlier, West Indies again had to rely on lower-order runs to take them up to a somewhat competitive total.
After slipping to 35-3 in the powerplay, Rovman Powell led the rebuild for the home side, but when Dan Mousley bowled him for 43, they were 102-6.
A few lusty blows from Shepherd, Matthew Forde and debutant Terrance Hinds got West Indies beyond 150 but, with Buttler in such fine form, England made light work of knocking off the runs.

I was a bit scratchy for the first few balls but I managed to come through that period and really enjoyed it. It was great to be back out there." On whether there is a difference between opening and batting number three: "Not today with Salty getting out first ball. I have lots of experience, I have played for a while and batted in lots different positions. I am just waiting to see what happens and playing what is in front of me." More from Jos Buttler, speaking about England's success in the powerplay: "There is no massive difference. The guys have picked up those early wickets. There seems to be an advantage bowling first here. Jofra and Saqib bowled fantastically well." On the next match: "We have got to start again. We are playing a top team in West Indies. They will come back hard and we have to be ready from ball one in the next game."

Match report by Sam Drury, BBC Sport journalistLiam Livingstone was dropped three times before taking England to a series-clinching three-wicket win over West Indies in the third T20. Having been set 146 to win in St Lucia, Jos Buttler's side slipped to 37-3 in the powerplay but Sam Curran batted fluently for his 41 from 26 balls to lead the recovery. England were well placed when he departed but it was left to Livingstone - having been dropped twice by Nicholas Pooran on six and eight, then again by Shimron Hetmyer on 21 - to try and finish the job. The big-hitting all-rounder took 16 from an Alzarri Joseph over to put the tourists on the brink and although he holed out with four needed, England got over the line with four balls to spare. Victory gives them an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series, with two matches left to be played. Saqib Mahmood and Jamie Overton had earlier taken three wickets apiece as England restricted West Indies to 145-8. Mahmood took three wickets in the powerplay as the hosts slumped to 37-5 and despite a half-century from captain Rovman Powell, they were ultimately unable to post a winning total. England had nervy moments in the chase but did what was required of them and head into Saturday's fourth T20 - also in St Lucia - with the series victory secured.

Very disappointed that Liam Livingstone, ( who normally hits the ball further than I go on holiday ) managed to get out for a duck, when I saw him play for England at The County Ground. If I hadn`t been there, he probably would have made 70 off 15 balls.

Match report by Ffion Wynne, BBC Sport JournalistWest Indies pulled off a sensational run-chase of 219 to earn their first win of the series in a thrilling fourth T20 in St Lucia. Openers Evin Lewis and Shai Hope blasted 136 from the first nine overs, before they lost three wickets in as many balls to allow England back into contention. Rehan Ahmed had Lewis caught for 68, Hope was run out for 54 and Nicholas Pooran was bowled for a duck, but captain Rovman Powell's 38 from 23 balls again shifted the momentum in the hosts' favour. Powell's dismissal in the 17th over helped England regain some control, only for Sherfane Rutherford to hit back-to-back sixes in the penultimate over to seal a five-wicket win. England's 218-5 was set up by Phil Salt's 55 - his seventh T20 score of 50 or more against West Indies - in explosive partnerships of 54 with fellow opener Will Jacks and 48 with Jos Buttler, who made 38. Jacob Bethell, 21, then continued his eye-catching start to international cricket with a 22-ball fifty and an unbeaten 68, including five sixes, as England seemed to make the most of a flat pitch having lost the toss. However, Lewis and Hope responded in style to the harsh treatment their bowlers received, reaching their half-centuries from 26 balls and 23 balls respectively. Powell's departure and a couple of economical death overs from Saqib Mahmood and T20 debutant John Turner sent a few nerves through the West Indies' dugout but Hope and Lewis' dynamic stand ensured they were comfortably ahead of the run rate, Rutherford eventually finishing on 29 from 17 balls. The T20 leg of the tour concludes with the fifth T20 on Sunday at the same venue, with England having already sealed a series win by winning the first three matches.

Sunday 17th November 2024 - International Twenty20 Match - Venue: Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet
Final T20 between England and West Indies washed out..The fifth and final T20 of the series between England and West Indies was washed out by heavy rain in St Lucia. England captain Jos Buttler chose to bowl first and the hosts reached 44-0 in five overs before the downpour began. The ground staff attempted to clear the wet outfield for a restart but the match was eventually abandoned without a result at 22:15 GMT. West Indies openers Evin Lewis and Shai Hope made 29 and 14 respectively, looking to add another commanding partnership following their 136 in nine overs in the fourth T20. England claim the T20 series 3-1, having lost the one-day international leg of the tour 2-1. Opener Phil Salt finished as the series' leading run-scorer with 162 runs in four innings, including an unbeaten 103 in the first T20, with West Indies captain Rovman Powell second with 153. England seamer Saqib Mahmood was the leading wicket-taker and was rested for the final match, finishing with nine scalps in four matches. England are next in action with three Tests in New Zealand, starting on 27 November, with the white-ball side taking on India in January. That will be Brendon McCullum's first assignment as white-ball head coach. Player of the series, England bowler Saqib Mahmood: "As a group we've spoken a lot about what we want to do and our mindset of taking wickets in the powerplay, so it's nice to get the rewards for that. "We've got a nice stock of fast bowlers now, hopefully we can all stay fit and healthy - long may it continue." England captain Jos Buttler: "We're delighted with the series win. We've played some brilliant cricket. "I enjoyed it [being captain without keeping], I felt like I had a bit more time and it was nice to be out there running around and closer to the bowlers. I got everything I wanted to out of doing that." West Indies captain Rovman Powell: "It's been a tough series and credit to Jos Buttler and his team who came to play in these conditions and dominated. "We played good cricket in patches but not for long enough periods." cdn.thestatszone.com/uploads/thumbnails/_r169l/Cricket_5thT20I_WestIndies_Vs_England.jpg
