Matt Taylor on BBC radio Bristol Having a Gas tonight saying squad will be reduced as those who underperformed are not going to be involved in the future. They let him.and fans down against Tottenham Swindon and Cheltenham matches. Hall called third choice keeper. I reckon Thomas is on his way out no more excuses just not league one standard.

MT was clear on Ward being a number 3 keeper. Who else will be having his card marked today?
M. Hall B. Bilongo C. Taylor - J. Wilson 64', substituted for J. Wilson at 64 minutes T. Moore (c), Captain L. Sousa I. Hutchinson 28', Yellow Card at 28 minutes J. Garrett L. Thomas L. McCormick 59', Yellow Card at 59 minutes K. Shaw G. O'Donkor - P. Omochere 39', substituted for P. Omochere at 39 minutes, then M. Anthony 78'
has the attention gone to Shaw's head?
O'Donkor's and Omochere's physical fragility can't be their fault, unless they aren't doing the prep properly. And they've been pretty good thus far I'd say
is Hutchinson an obvious one?
maybe Macca too?

This could explain the disjointed ”performance” at Swindon. They may have got a whiff of his intentions

I'd be most concerned if I was Hutchinson or McCormick...

I'd be most concerned if I was Hutchinson or McCormick... Plus Thomas who has been off form all season. Thomas and Taylor have been off form but have previously shown what they are capable of with us. Both have the potential to be championship players.
McCormick and Hutchinson also showed great potential but with other clubs. All four are, for my money, easily L1 standard players.
I think MT is overreacting and is coming at this with a pre-established agenda - I think he had issues with both Hutchinson and McCormick before this game.
Anybody else remember Man Utd losing 3-0 against York City in the Coke cup at Bootham Crescent?

Mcormick is l2 level at best. Was actually impressive at AFC Wimbledon at this level, and also did well enough with us for JB to sign him on a permanent.

Saw him when he first joined us and thought he was lightweight and could be easily bullied then. Was surprised when we signed him on a perm. Nice for tippy tappy football but not the cut & thrust of this division. Crewe's style would suit him in L2.

On paper looks a decent side and certainly not like one that ships 4 goals to a team that will do well to avoid the drop into the National league. It’s a far stronger line up than I would have picked for this chocolate teapot competition. It really doesn’t add up and I wouldn't even put it down to a bad day at the office. Hints at bigger problems behind the scenes. Are the players deliberately trying to get Taylor sacked? If so even more unacceptable than the dreadful performance

Well it’s not our livelihoods that could be affected by performing poorly. Plus even though I despise the competition, playing football for a living is a privilege that very few enjoy so what the fans think of the competition really shouldn’t figure in how the players perform

I don't think it's reasonable to expect the players to approach a Tuesday night pizza cup game in Swindon with any great enthusiasm or purpose. I imagine even Ian Holloway, Gary Penrice or Stuart Sinclair would regard it as an utter waste of time and beneath them. This wouldn't say anything about their professionalism or commitment to the club.
In future, let's just play our youth team. If every lower league team did this, the authorities would soon have to act.

Agree absolutely and didn’t take it as a criticism so apologies if it came across that way. I do think though if I was fortunate enough to be a professional footballer I’d want to play every game I could unless injured as who knows if it would be my last - even in a competition like this which is as appealing as gargling a yard of warm sick. I’d also be giving it my all as my livelihood would depend on it. Something really doesn’t add up with that first 45.

Taylors days are numbered, I don't believe those two victory's have solved anything,it only papered over the cracks. This defeat at Swindon proves this. I want him gone as we are not progressing under him, and it's clear for us to see. There seems some problems behind the senses if he is talking about some players that he has brought in like this.

Even though they`re being paid to do exactly that? Maybe they should have made this clear before the match, thus preventing any of our fans from wasting their time and money, travelling to support the team?

I remember a long conversation with the former Rovers manager Bobby Campbell when he was manager at Gloucester City in the Conference, and my cousin was playing there. His view was that once a player started being paid they reacted very differently to playing. Some, he said, like my cousin didn't need motivating, but he said for a lot of players it became just about the money and as they got a basic, irrespective of results, an additional win bonus didn't necessarily drive them to perform. He reckoned that was the manager's job hence his views on the success of the likes of Shankly. With the amount of money the players earn today in the League that is even more important. If MT isn't motivating them then there must be a disconnect or they aren't listening. Hence some may be be moving on.....
