So true. I have to take refresher courses in areas of concern for charity I work for. I have often been told that I am wrong about this or that, but have sat there thinking...no way, they are wrong. So I end up answering what I believe to be incorrectly and they pass me. I gave up fighting it a few years back...đ¤ So these 'courses in areas of concern' for charities,is this something thats come in after Brandon Cox's alleged behaviour and resignation from the charity that employed him ? or just general H&S procedures for price guns etc ? When you know nothing, it is best to say nothing.

Rapist abused three young girls in Bristol..By Toby Codd, Breaking news reporter
Robert Ponter got away with his crimes for over 25 years but has now been brought to justicei2-prod.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/incoming/article9565087.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_BL_TC_190924_robertponterjpeg.jpgA man has been jailed for raping three girls in Bristol. Robert Ponter, 57, carried out the attacks between 1998 and 2007, and his victims were aged between 11 and 15 at the time. After a police investigation, he pleaded guilty at Bristol Crown Court to three counts of rape of a girl aged under 16. Ponter, of Longwell Green, South Gloucestershire, also admitted three indecent assault charges â two related to one 14-year-old girl and one to another girl of the same age. Avon and Somerset Police were alerted to Ponter's crimes in 2007 and 2008. However, there was insufficient evidence to charge him with any offences. Detectives then received a third report in 2021 and subsequently reapproached the victims whoâd previously reported Ponterâs abuse to ask for their permission to further investigate what happened to them. After the investigation was concluded in July 2024, he he was charged with sexually abusing all three victims. The 57-year-old has now been jailed for 14 years. In addition to his custodial sentence, Ponter was issued with an indefinite restraining order banning him from ever contacting his victims again. He was also made subject of a sexual harm prevention order and will be registered as a sex offender indefinitely. Investigating officer Detective Constable Lucy Heaps said: âRobert Ponter took advantage of three girls over many years, exploiting their young age to carry out his vile crimes. âAll three of his victims have demonstrated great courage by reporting what happened to them and by providing evidence which resulted in Ponter pleading guilty to all the offences during his first appearance at court. âThey continue to have access to specialist support services and I hope the fact he has been jailed for 14 years gives them a sense of closure.â She added: âNo investigation is ever closed and if new information or supporting evidence comes to light, such as in this case when we received the most recent report, we will revisit inquiries and do everything we can to get justice for victims. âIf you have been affected by this inquiry please do contact us, we can provide access to support and look into any reports you want to make.â

They are evil. Pure Evil .. no excuse for their actions. They have sacrificed all their human rights by raping children. ... You have a choice to save one. ⢠A innocent Rabbit or Rat..? Strolling around Greenbank Cemetery yesterday evening ,there was a Police van and private ambulance.
A Peeler told me they were taking away a dead body. That's an unburied one.
Not a crime scene, but someones loved one.
Rest in peace.

Community in shock after young man with a âgood, kind spiritâ fatally stabbed..By Yvonne Deeney, Community Reporter
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9575300.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/1_Stapleton-Road-stabbing-photo-on-Kora-windowjpeg.jpg A photo of Kunta Ceesay has been placed in the window of the Kora centre in Stapleton RoadMembers of the Easton community have been left in shock after the fatal stabbing of a young man who many described as a âbrotherâ to them. Kunta Ceesay died after being attacked on Stapleton Road on Friday (September 20th) and was known by many in the local community. The 25-year-old, who was originally from The Gambia, was described by locals as a âgood kind spirit.â Floral tributes, photos and messages against violence have been left around the post box close to where the stabbing took place. Lamine Sanyang, who is also from Gambia, said that he knew Kunta from Bristol Kora Association, a community group on Stapleton Road that caters to the Gambian and Senegalese community. He told Bristol Live: âHe was a very calm person, I donât know how someone could stab him. âItâs a big shock. Itâs too much for me, Iâm not sleeping properly, I canât believe what happened.â People at Kora have placed a photo of Kunta in the window of the community centre and are hoping to organise some kind of memorial. A local woman who also knew Kunta, but who did not want to be named, said she was there when paramedics arrived and were trying to revive him. âIt was not a nice thing to see,â she said. âThere was another [incident] not too long ago, itâs just getting stupid. He was classed as everyoneâs brother. âHe was a big strong man, so fit and healthy, he was too young to die. He is going to be sadly missed by all of us.â Shakawan Siddiqi, 32, of Wade Street in St Jude's, has been charged with murder following the death and has been remanded into custody. He was due to appear at Bristol Magistrates Court today, Monday, September 23rd. Two women, aged 36 and 47, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released under investigation. Murder arrest after death of man in Stapleton Road incident..By Phil NorrisEditor, Gloucestershire LiveTwo women have also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. A man arrested last night has been released. Police have arrested a man on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a man in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police officers arrested a man aged 32 on Saturday afternoon (September 21st) and he has been taken into custody. It follows the death of a 25-year-old man who was stabbed in Stapleton Road in East Bristol at about 5.40pm yesterday (Friday, September 20th). He was taken to Southmead Hospital where he sadly died a short time later. Efforts to locate the suspect in investigation have been carried out subsequently and led to an arrest in the Eastville area at about 5.45pm today (Saturday 21 September). The police helicopter was seen flying over the area. Officers have also arrested two women, aged 36 and 47, on suspicion of assisting an offender and they remain in custody. A man who was arrested on suspicion of the same offence last night has been released with no further action. Detective Inspector Mark Newbury, senior investigating officer, said: âThe arrest of a man this afternoon on suspicion of murder marks a significant development in our investigation. He is in custody and will be interviewed by detectives from our Major Crime Investigation Team in due course. âWe are in contact with close friends of the man who died and have updated them this evening of this news and continue to offer them support. Stapleton Road was reopened this afternoon following the conclusion of our inquiries at the scene and we are grateful for the publicâs understanding while that necessary work was undertaken. âThe community can continue to expect to see an increased high-visibility police presence over the next few days as we look to help anyone who has concerns following this tragic incident.â

According to Avon and Somerset police, the man in his 20s sustained serious injuries after falling from a height in Broad Street. A police presence remained in Broad Street over the weekend until Monday (September 23) while officers investigated the circumstances around the manâs serious injuries and carried out enquiries. Disabled man scared in his own home after neighbour's âdeath threatâ..Report By Yvonne Deeney, Community Reporter
âI couldnât even get back to my flat, he blocked my path"
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9573639.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_Richard-Loaderjpeg.jpg Richard Loader, 58 is disabled and relies on a walking stick.A disabled man has said he is scared in his own home after receiving multiple threats from a neighbour. Richard Loader claims he received a death threat from one of his neighbours last week, and as a result spent two nights sleeping on a camp bed in a friendâs shop. Mr Loader, who has lived in his council flat in Bristol for eight years, said he didnât have any problems until his new neighbour moved in this year. âThis guy is extremely violent, heâs threatened me on numerous occasions just because he can hear me walking to the toilet at night,â he told Bristol Live. He said he confronted his neighbour last week after learning about his previous convictions. Mr Loader claimed that he said to the man, âI know what you didâ and in return received what he took as a death threat. The 58-year-old has cerebellar ataxia, a brain disease that affects balance, and causes him to fall over a lot. He also has peripheral neuropathy, nerve damage which severely affects his mobility at times. Speaking about the incident last week, he said: âWhen he had a go at me again, I made it quite clear that I was scared of him. Iâm scared to death because as far as Iâm concerned what he said to me was a death threat. I was coming home after doing some shopping and he was very intimidating, coming right up in my face. âI couldnât even get back to my flat, he blocked my path. He was doing some work and had a drill in his hand. I wasnât going to push past him.â After the incident he spent two nights on a camp bed inside his friendâs shop, but has since returned home and is trying to avoid the neighbour. Mr Loader, who is disabled and relies on a walking stick, has said he does not feel protected by the police or adequately assisted by the council. Mr Loader called 999 at the time but said that nobody came to visit, He has since reported the incidents to the police who have said they are planning to go and speak to him. Mr Loader said he had previously been in contact with the Bristol City Council team who spoke to the neighbour prior to the most recent threat. Although the council has taken action, Mr Loader said he does not feel it has been helpful and described the police response as âuselessâ. He added: âI've been in the council offices at Temple Street. They offered no help, even though I received a threat to my life. I just cannot believe that the police, after a 999 call, haven't seen me yet, especially as my life could be in danger. âI have to use the loo at night because of my health. He even complained about the neighbour's baby crying but he is so nasty and aggressive about it.â

Bristol pubs collect enough food donations to feed 12 local people for a week..Report By Zoe Glascow
They collected the donations over the course of one weekend...
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9580521.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/1_Portcullis-food-collection.jpg Some of the donations made to The Portcullis in Staple HillThree community pubs in Bristol have collected enough food to feed 12 people in the local community for a week. The Portcullis in Staple Hill, Cossham Inn in Kingswood and The Luckwell in Bedminster all took part in the fundraising activities to help those struggling with the cost of living. The pubs are owned by Admiral Taverns and operate with the support of Proper Pubs, Admiral Tavern's scheme that helps people in local communities run pubs. Each Proper Pub took part in FoodFest, a fundraising weekend, earlier this month between September 6th and 8th. Over the course of the weekend, every customer that donated an item of food was given a raffle ticket to be in with a chance of winning a bar tab at their local Proper Pub. Cossham Inn in Kingswood donated their collection to Kingswood Foodbank, The Luckwell in Bedminster to Refresh CafĂŠ and The Portcullis in Staple Hill to Ignite-Life. Mark Brooke, Managing Director at Proper Pubs, said: âI am absolutely blown away by the fantastic efforts of our operators in Bristol and their incredible communities. Choosing to support local foodbanks was a cause close to the hearts of many at Proper Pubs so itâs great to see what an impact weâve managed to have in such a short time. "Weâve always championed community pubs because we believe they are so much more than just a place to drink, but rather social hubs that bring people together and support one another and I think this campaign stands testament to that. "As ever, Iâd like to extend my thanks to all our operators and customers who have helped to feed hundreds of families through their donations. Iâm really looking forward to seeing how we can make a difference in our local communities this year." Over the weekend, Proper Pubs up and down the UK collected over 1,000 bags for life worth of food. On average, each bag for life could feed one person for a week. i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9580526.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_PG_BRI_191022portcullis-148.jpgi2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article8903363.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_The-Cossham-Inn-front.jpgi2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9580530.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_BR271121luckwellPAG-4.jpg

17 arrests after immigration raid at caravan park near M32..By Yvonne Deeney, Community Reporter
Those arrested are believed to be working illegally as delivery drivers
i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9616782.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/3_Immigration-raid-IKEAjpeg.jpg A general view of caravans parked up in New Stadium RoadSeventeen people were arrested after an immigration raid at a caravan park near the M32 in Bristol. Immigration Enforcement carried out an intelligence-led visit to the site in New Stadium Road. According to the Home Office the 17 individuals arrested were believed to be working illegally as delivery drivers. The Home Office said 13 had overstayed their permitted leave, two were in breach of their visa conditions and two had breached their immigration bail conditions. Of those arrested 13 were subsequently detained, pending potential removal from the UK. The four individuals not detained were placed on immigration bail and will be required to report regularly to the Home Office. Director of enforcement, compliance & crime at immigration enforcement Eddy Montgomery, said: âThis operation sends a clear message to those who seek to exploit the labour market to employ workers illegally, and those who believe they can work here without the correct status â the Home Office is committed to enforcing immigration law and will not tolerate any abuse. âIt is our priority to uphold border security and to ensure the criminals who seek to exploit it face serious consequences.â Minister for border security and asylum Angela Eagle, said:âWe are determined to clamp down both on illegal working and the exploitative treatment of illegal workers. Vulnerable individuals can find themselves trapped in unsafe and insecure conditions, facing exploitation and even modern-day slavery, often facilitated by organised criminal gangs.â This operation is just one part of a larger effort to tackle illegal working and the exploitation of those vulnerable to it. Over the summer, immigration officers visited Bristol and targeted car washes but did not report any arrests. The crackdown on illegal working comes after a pledge from Home Secretary Yvette Cooper to bring justice to those exploiting the labour market by employing workers illegally in an attempt to make profit. In August the Home Secretary also announced that the Labour government had plans to achieve the highest rate of removals the country has seen in five years. To support their efforts to remove people from the UK who do not have a valid visa, including failed asylum seekers, the government has invested money into new specialist intelligence officers and 290 more beds and reopening detention centres that had previously been closed.

This is somewhere the government have failed again. Who are employing these illegal immigrants? How do they get paid? Is it cash in hand? The government need to clamp down heavily on these companies and make the penalties so severe that companies will not do it.
