Posters The moderators have received a number of messages recently relating to debate on this section of the forum, from various sides of the political spectrum. We have also been informed that a number of comments have been made about the moderators which we have not been party to or been able to respond to because we were not aware of them. We are now. We do not expect to be adored by the masses [that is tongue in cheek for the sensitive] but we do try our best to be fair. Please remember that moderators are allowed to have their own opinions as individuals.
We have asked in the past and remind you again that debate should be civil and related to the post not the poster personally. Personal abuse will not be tolerated, and action will be taken if complaints are made that are adjudged to be justified.
We note that a number of posters do not post or very rarely post about the football club which this forum is intended to be about. Further, simply answering a post by saying that the other posters views are 'bollox' and/or becoming personal about that poster are not debate, but childish insults, whether you believe them to be 'bollox' or not. Facts and counter arguments are justified but not abuse.
One helpful interpretation of the idea of a debate is 'A debate is a formal discussion where people present opposing arguments on a specific topic. It often involves structured formats, such as those seen in public meetings, academic institutions, or legislative assemblies. Debates can be used to explore different viewpoints, with each side presenting facts and opinions to support their stance. Debates are valuable for discussing important issues, encouraging critical thinking, and helping participants and audiences understand different perspectives. They can be both educational and recreational, often emphasizing logical consistency, factual accuracy, and emotional appeal'
If the idea of debate doesn't appeal to you and you have simply come on to throw insults or ridicule those of a different viewpoint, or cannot accept that a person has a different viewpoint that may be opposed to yours, then perhaps debating in a civilised manner is not for you. Please try to be civil, we do not want to close this area of the forum but may be forced to.
Regards, the moderators

Have what? 😆 Anyway, I'm like most on here would be happy to reboot this section and start again if reasonable, responsible ,and respectful debate is honoured. However, I will not sell my soul and not defend myself if I'm called something I'm not like a racist, bigot or fascist. I'm ok with this opening post, let's see how this works out..👍

I know....this opening post was probably instigated by his side - via the admin, and then they felt the need to react in order to try to create peace,Ive never had any problems with our mods, no interaction at all with them in fact. Mr Accuser does his thing and then plays the victim. Oh ,the irony indeed.

Thanks and regards I never said anything about you lying. No, you said that 'this opening post was probably instigated by his side' when it clearly states that we 'have received a number of messages recently relating to debate on this section of the forum, from various sides of the political spectrum'. Thereby intimating that what I had stated was 'probably' incorrect..... It was not 'probably' instigated by one individual or side.

I dont know I was hoping that you would tell me,I always say on the thread when I am making a complaint. I mean you dont have to tell us ,if you want to keep your complaints to the mods anonymous thats your prerogative.

It is you who, on this thread, chose to state that I am on a wind up...

So you didnt make a complaint ? or you dont want to say ? I ask again, why would you think I would? On what grounds? Well how about the grounds that you seem very defensive about me asking and cagey in your replies,as I said you dont have to come clean but the rest of us will draw our own conclusions.

So You are accusing me of complaining to the mods on the grounds that I decide to not respond to your question?

So You are accusing me of complaining to the mods on the grounds that I decide to not respond to your question? Have I accused you ? no,I have asked you and given you an opportunity to admit (or deny) it but you have exercised your right to silence, thats fine of course but now people will make their own minds up,some might think that you have complained but wont admit to it,others might think something else but only you (and the mods of course ) will know the truth now.

"Well how about the grounds that you seem very defensive about me asking and cagey in your replies" Your response to my direct question. This is tedious of course and the personalisation is in direct contradiction to statement by Cheshire and his request.
