The thing here is that you have criticised people for 'childish name calling' in the past but you do the same yourself, what was it you used to call Rees Mogg ?... I agree with ltdgas that Rayner is the sort of woman that I (and many others) would class as an old slag/slapper/brass,not what I want as someone who is deputy PM.

Granted, but what I asked for and then what we got were two different things. It was due to the corrupt , lying..heel dragging government party, and their opposition at the time that f**ked Brexit up. Their fault. Nothing about the Brexit idea, nor it's voters as that's a cop out. These people never wanted it, and never delivered it. Fact. I've spoke to many people that feel the same. You were sold a pup before not after! Even Nige admitted that the £350mln for the NHS was a soundbite! Cheshire, you do remember that there were 2 leave campaigns ? it wasnt Farage's lot who painted that bus about millions for the NHS. I wasnt sold a pup,i didnt listen to anyone (and certainly not Boris Johnson) I had wanted Britain out of the EU for decades and I am happy with the result, one day we will get a govt who takes full advantage of our position outside the EU until then there will be queues at Dover every bank holiday and I couldnt care less.

Not only that, but the NHS receives far more now than the extra 350 million on the bus ! It was given an extra 22 billion a year by the May Government ! There will always be queues at Dover at certain times. There always have been, even before Brexit!

UK will give sovereignty of Chagos Islands to Mauritius..by Andrew Harding, BBC correspondenti.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/11/90407205-13920127-image-a-1_1727950428828.jpgThe UK has announced it is giving up sovereignty of a remote but strategically important cluster of islands in the Indian Ocean after more than half a century. The deal – reached after years of negotiations - will see the UK hand over the Chagos Islands to Mauritius in a historic move. This includes the tropical atoll of Diego Garcia, used by the US government as a military base for its navy ships and long-range bomber aircraft. The announcement, made in a joint statement by the British and Mauritian Prime Ministers on Thursday, ends decades of often fractious negotiations between the two countries over the islands. The US-UK base will remain on Diego Garcia – a key factor enabling the deal to go forward at a time of growing geopolitical rivalries in the region between Western countries, India, and China. The deal is still subject to finalisation of a treaty but both sides have vowed to complete this as quickly as possible. "Following two years of negotiation, this is a seminal moment in our relationship and a demonstration of our enduring commitment to the peaceful resolution of disputes and the rule of law," the statement from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Jugnauth read. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/11/90408973-13920127-image-a-11_1727952866220.jpgThe leaders also said they were committed "to ensure the long-term, secure and effective operation of the existing base on Diego Garcia which plays a vital role in regional and global security." Both parties said the treaty would "address wrongs of the past and demonstrate the commitment of both parties to support the welfare of Chagossians". The two countries will set up a new partnership, with the UK providing a package of financial support to Mauritius, including annual payments and infrastructure investment. Mauritius will also be able to start enacting a programme of resettlement on the Chagos Islands, but not on Diego Garcia. There, the UK will ensure operation of the military base for "an initial period" of 99 years. The US has supported the decision, with President Joe Biden applauding the "historic" deal. "It is a clear demonstration that through diplomacy and partnership, countries can overcome long-standing historical challenges to reach peaceful and mutually beneficial outcomes," President Biden said in a statement on Thursday. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/11/89374453-13920127-Chagos_is_an_overseas_territory_of_the_UK_in_the_Indian_Ocean_be-a-10_1727950624036.jpgThe negotiations that brought about Thursday's deal began years before Sir Keir Starmer became prime minister. But the timing of this breakthrough reflects a growing sense of urgency in international affairs, not least regarding Ukraine, with the UK keen to remove the Chagos issue as an obstacle to winning more global support, particularly from African nations, with the prospect of a second Trump presidency looming. The Chagos islanders themselves – some in Mauritius and the Seychelles, but others living in Crawley – do not speak with one voice on the fate of their homeland. Some are determined to return to live on the isolated islands, some are more focused on their rights and status in the UK, while others argue that the Chagos archipelago’s status should not be resolved by outsiders. A backlash from some voices in the UK can be expected, even though successive Conservative and Labour prime ministers have both been working towards the same broad goal. But there can be no doubting the historic significance of this moment. Half a century or more after the UK relinquished control over almost all its vast global empire, it has finally agreed to hand over one of the very last pieces. It has done so reluctantly, perhaps, but also peacefully and legally. The remaining British overseas territories are: Anguilla, Bermuda, British Antarctic Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn, Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Turks and Caicos Islands. There are also two sovereign base areas on Cyprus under British jurisdiction. i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/12/90409641-0-image-a-1_1727953833804.jpgi.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/12/90409647-0-image-a-2_1727953836521.jpgi.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2024/10/03/12/90409639-0-image-a-3_1727953838468.jpg

Getting under your skin am I. Are you trying to make it personal? I remind you to attack the post not the poster. it's not personal. Please don't make it so. Unless you have something against me personally but you really seem obsessive..... Sounds very much like he has got under your skin Cheshire,to be fair you have said that Starmer did nothing wrong, seems like a lot of people in the country disagree. Not at all Trymer, I am glad that people disagree, that's what debate is all about. I just lose interest in ltdgas's posts because it's commie this, commie that..... Both 30p Lee and Rees Smugg were called so by their contemporaries, appreciate some might not like that, but I try hard not to write responses that seem to personally attack individuals rather than their posts and will apologise if someone takes offence. ltdgas just can't help himself. He knows that posters considered left of centre aren't communists but continually uses it. And then gets holy offended when I use a title used by Lee Anderson's mates!

I reject misogyny (for a similar reason to why I reject racism) i dont think that men are always superior to women I have met many women who are better than men at certain things on many occasions, the best organisers that i have met all happened to be women, one of whom was the the best manager too. I was told the other week that I am 'the token man' in my Pilates classes, thats true because men tend to drop out quickly when they see that there are women in the class that are better at it than them, stupid really because everyone is a novice to begin with, some men have fragile ego's. I have usually (not always though) found that being a male my upper body strength is better than the women in my class,we have a new instructor at one class now and she teaches her own variation of Pilates concentrating on upper body strength, she is an absolute Amazon, amazing physique and strength,I remember one tiny girl at Abs classes who used to slay us all and women often trot out of Bodypump when I crawl out. So I reject your statement that I have a poor view of ALL women, women like Rayner etc different story.

What the labour govt should do ? call an election soon I hope...realistically I hope they bring in tens of thousands of immigrants and put taxes up, I am sure they will anyway and that will make people more likely to want REAL 'change' at the next election.

Does he actually understand, comprehend, what is he writing? The rest of his post really does suggest he needs help.

Slapper - a vulgar or coarse woman, or one who has many casual sexual relationships. Brass - A prostitute, from Cockney rhyming slang where "brass" is a shortening of "brass flute," "brass door," "brass dart," or "brass nail," which rhyme with "prostitute," "whore," "tart," and "tail," respectively. So what evidence do you have that Angela Rayner is the epitome of the words that you have called her?

Have you been there or better still lived there? I have and it's fine. It's pretty poor by London standards and has a very ethnically diverse population as you sneered at in your post. It's a working class London borough with good and bad bits but overall it's fairly solid. Unlike you, people who live there (black, brown and white, English speaking and speakers learning English) tolerate each other very well and mix freely. They all muddle along looking for a better life, just like they do in most traditional working class areas of the UK. Just wondered if your opinion of Brent is based on first hand experience or something else? I'd be interested to know from your time there why you ask if there are any white people left?
