Interesting bit: "Bank of America expects the UK’s next rate cut to come in November, followed by four quarterly cuts in 2025 and two cuts in 2026 – resulting in a 3.25 per cent base rate by the middle of 2026." Yep. Soft landing? Or controlled take off. Either way if they are right it feels like a plan

Extended, so they are not paying out more? 😂😂😂😂😂 Ah, the usual glib response when you know you have not got anything worthwhile to say.

Extended, so they are not paying out more? Would you prefer they stopped it as previously scheduled and reclaim the funds?

Sensible decision on the Ofsted wording, surely. Should be acknowledged. Very much so. I cannot see how a single word description ever served parents well. But it made the Tories appear "hard" Which is an oxymoron. Thought the current grading system was introduced in 2005 under Labour.

Labour trying to claim it as something they are 'introducing' as a sop towards criticism of their cancellation of the WFA is just wrong.

Imagine, Confidence in a Labour government
"That UK bond sale we mentioned earlier ending up drawing £110 billion in order demand -- matching a record high.
The nation set the final sale size of the 2040 securities at £8 billion."

Corbyn makes alliance with pro Hamas groups in Parliament.
No coincidence it's at the same time the embarrassment Lammy cuts some arms supply to Israel.
Sectarian politics.

Thought the current grading system was introduced in 2005 under Labour. They had plenty of chances to change it in the last 14 years, especially since the suicide of the head teacher. During the 14 years I didn't hear demands from the opposition to change the grading. The sad suicide of the head teacher was in 2023 so they didn't have long to change it, after all the change made by labour won't come in until September 2025.

Do they only act on what the Opposition says? Of course not, they could have chosen themselves. Plenty of time, they refused when they could have consulted and even now, Nadhim Zahawi writing in The Times says it's the wrong decision.
