I received an email from EFL iFollow today after I enquired about streaming for the 2024/25 season for ex-pats as I hadn't received my usual renewal notice, I did notice there's a BRTV link on the Rovers website and hope it'll be possible to subscribe to something similar to iFollow for the new season in due course.:

EFLThat's a shame Star. Results on BBC World Service,online. Highlights on YouTube. Better than nothing. Last resort, and free, and live, google Bet 365, go to football, click on the Rovers fixture at kick off, click on ‘in play’ and you get a small football pitch screen which shows the passage of play, players names, etc, by computer simulation, bit like the old Championship Manager Games. Looks like it will be my go-to next season. |

A real shame.
Despite its many flaws I looked forward to my regular iFollow Rovers fix.
Ah well, I guess I'm just another inconsequential victim of football's unquenchable thirst for more and more £££'s.

Something is supposed to be available but details not yet released.
Assume that will be a package where you don't have to buy a complete Sky package but something tailored to your club.
How good are sky at cutting out VPN users?

...How good are sky at cutting out VPN users? I've noticed a few providers are becoming more adept at identifying VPN users e.g. BBC. Sky has more to gain by stopping VPNs so are likely masters at it. That said, I can usually see their highlights packages via VPN. |

I'm sorry. This stinks. Gasheads abroad willingly paying to watch Rovers now denied the opportunity, just to sell out to Sky. Football League clubs could have YouTube live feeds on Smart TVs across the world, getting paid for every streamer. What a waste.

Good question!…As pointed out by the OP, BRTV has a ‘non-functioning’ link on the Rovers Official website, so perhaps something is going on?, looks like it could be something positive for the future?, or perhaps it’s just in-house video and non-commercial, as ever, Rovers keep you guessing. |

After doing a bit of research (as I didn't get a reply from Bristol Rovers FC) it looks like we, and many others have joined a new web service hosted by a company called Other Media. Bolton are also with them and are already advertising the available packages for UK and non-UK/Ireland residents: www.bwfc.co.uk/subscriptions-and-passes |

The loss of iFollow is a blow to Gasheads not living in the range of Radio Bristol as well. We won't be able to get commentaries either. The only way is to have Sky and hope the match is on TV live.
Anyone know when the new Bristol Rovers App is available? I've noticed over the last week, or so, that there haven't been any news updates and this morning I can't log in to the app, or reset the password. I assume iFollow is finished completely.

I believe it's a constant battle between VPN providers and content providers. The content providers identify IP addresses belonging to a VPN service and block them, then VPN providers change their addresses. I suspect my VPN provider needs to up its game... or I find another. |

The 'Bolton' link sounds encouraging, thought it looks more expensive than iFollow.Neverthless I hope Rovers do something similar.
Some of us who live overseas do travel back to England to see friends and family once or twice a year, and when I do I can usually take in a couple of 'live' Rovers games. But this is a bonus, I like to follow my team every week, not jut 2-3 games in a season. There are now Bristol Rovers fans all over the world and we want to keep supporting the Gas.
