That's a bit cheeky is'nt it Rowdenhill? My high German is poor but my Swiss German is almost non existent. 🙂 It is a bit cheeky, has to be said, but I thought you'd like it in a curious sorta way. Don't get me started on barndütsch. I do sort of like it, in a curious way.Reminds me of listening to my Basel pals Basel dialect chit chat. Much absolute guess work on my part.🙂 Regarding Beefy,i think he's a decent player and would be happy to see him stay. Er ist nicht schlekt.

Jed Ward has signed a season long loan deal with Forest Green Rovers. My initial reaction is wtf! May have missed a beat here but who is our starting keeper now? Griffiths looks a good GK to me Cornwall .

He may well be but I don't see the logic in loaning out a good young keeper that is ours and replacing him with a loanee young keeper that isn't. Am I missing something here?

Am I missing something here? I think Ward has the talent for the championship, but while I think he would do a decent job for us this season as number 1, I think it's a very useful move for him to go to FGR. Its local for him, he should be challenging for promotion and he will start every game.He could have played in L2 but this is a wise move for all. Hopefully he comes in next season starting in the championship for us.đź‘Ť

I'd rather Jed was our number one this season as I do see him as our long term first choice, however the next best thing is getting genuinely competitive football.
Seems a logical move, one that we could mirror with some of our other young talent.

Am I missing something here? We now have a better GK than Ward for the season. Ward will get valuable experience at FGR.

Micah Anthony has signed a 2 year deal for Rovers. I think he's a flank player.

www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/micah-anthony-joins-bristol-roversBristol Rovers is delighted to confirm the signing of Micah Anthony. Anthony has put pen-to-paper on an two-year deal with the option of another season with Rovers, and joins the Gas following a short trial with the Club, having departed Queens Park Rangers at the end of last season. A versatile winger with an abundance of pace, Anthony is Rovers’ thirteenth signing of the summer. “It feels great to join Bristol Rovers,” the 20-year-old said. “This is a great step for me. Bristol Rovers is a big club that will challenge me and help me develop as a player. I feel like I can only get better working with the other players here and with the coaches here too. “I got to experience The Mem with those two pre-season games too and it was an amazing feeling to step out onto that pitch. Everyone has been so supportive of me, from the fans, to my teammates, to the gaffer, and I’ve felt so welcome at this Club. “Everyone has made me feel so welcome here and I’m excited to be here.” Manager Matt Taylor welcomed Anthony to Bristol Rovers and is looking forward to working with him, having been impressed with the youngster during his trial. Taylor said: “We are pleased to sign Micah and welcome him to the team at Bristol Rovers. “Since being with us on trial, Micah has shown us his talent and personality. He has a high ceiling in terms of his potential and we’re looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the coming months.” Anthony first joined Queens Park Rangers at U9s level, having previously spent time with Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace. The winger progressed through the QPR academy and earned a spot in the U18s team, before progressing into the U21s in the 2022/23 campaign. A spell on loan with non-league side Hanwell Town in the same season also helped Anthony’s development. Everyone at Bristol Rovers is delighted to welcome Micah to the Club and wish him every success for his career in the blue-and-white quarters.

i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9470367.ece/ALTERNATES/s1176b/0_Normal-7409754.jpgBristol Rovers manager Matt Taylor is confident the Gas have added a “great player” who will bring plenty of excitement to the team after confirming the arrival of triallist Micah Anthony on a two-year contract, with the option of a further 12 months. Anthony played three times in pre-season for Rovers, impressing in games against Yeovil Town, Swansea City and Plymouth Argyle, following his release by QPR, and will boost Taylor’s options in the final third as he brings pace and trickery in wide areas. The 20-year-old is yet to play in the EFL, so Taylor has urged that a degree of patience will be required as he develops at the Mem, likening his profile to that of fellow summer signing Dan Ellison, who is also a rookie at this level. Anthony's attacking qualities have been evident at The Quarters but what stood out for Taylor, and looks to have rubber-stamped the decision to sign him, was his work off the ball and willigness to defend for the team.

MT said how he was impressed with Anthony's willingness to track back and defend. Fair enough, but did he say anything about the players attacking ability? He may of done, but idid'nt notice anything about his ball control, clever quick feet, ability to beat a man ,cross the ball, cut inside to play a 1 2 and shoot etc.
I get the feeling MT signed a left winger because he's happy he tries to defend.
It's not what I want to hear.
I still lack confidence in Matt Taylor.
