Its very strange, normally US Secret Service shot first ask questions later. Interesting that Donald is falling in the polls and the Republicans getting anxious and suddenly there is another 'assassination' attempt. Wonder how many more there will be until he is back leading the polls? Or am I just being cynical. Funny that the previous 'assassination' attempt and information has become very vague. Is it me or has his ear wound cleared up quickly?? More seriously, if an attempt was successful it would cause so much fallout that it doesn't bear thinking about. Certain foreign governments may benefit but the rest of the world would be in a bad place. Indeed, and I should expect significant fallout in the US with many expecting virtual civil war. The US is not in a good place at the moment. I also expect fallout if Trump loses as he will inevitably say that he has been robbed again. Listening to his rambling speeches going off at a tangent consistently and filled with conspiracy rumours, he is in a far worse mental state that anything aimed at Biden. The result in November will be critical for many people, whichever way it goes.

Democracy is the consent of the defeated and whereas in the past people like Al Gore, John McCain or Mitt Romney had the good grace to accept they lost, I don't see that here.

Now in Springfield Ohio after Trump's lies. eu.usatoday.com/story/news/local/2024/09/15/events-canceled-at-wittenberg-u-springfield-campus-sunday-due-to-haitian-threats/75237272007/Wittenberg University classes will be online only Monday and all sporting events and other activities are being canceled for a second straight day at its Springfield campus because of threats of violence related to false claims about the city's Haitian immigrants, the university announce Sunday. Meanwhile, Clark State College is going to online classes this entire week at its Springfield campuses and other locations because of threats of similar threats of violence. The actions were taken in response to the latest in a series of threats against government offices, schools, hospitals and other facilities in Springfield since former President Donald J. Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, began sharing false information about immigrants in the city 45 miles west of Columbus stealing and eating pets.

That 45% of American voters actually believe that clowns like Trump and Vance are credible candidates.

It was so divisive that I doubt it would have been accepted by a large part whomever won.

That, of course, was until Leave won and he said it's not best of three.

Do you know where they are based? At war, why is that important? Or a war base.

There's a different between saying and doing isn't there. Farage says alot of things. As Leave won he couldn't enact it though, counter factual. So we have to take him at his word and tbh, I think he would have carried on. Yes, Farage says a lot, and a lot believe him.
