Lewis Gordon was released by Bristol Rovers at the end of last season after 73 appearances over two seasons The left-back made 28 appearances for Rovers across all competitions last term, 19 of which starts, but suffered an injury in Taylor's first game in charge away at Crawley Town which saw him drop down the pecking order early into his tenure. Chesterfield stormed the National League last season to secure promotion back into the Football League after six years in the fifth tier and, under former Portsmouth and Wigan boss Paul Cook, you would expect the Spireites to be ambitious this season.
