Surely this contravenes some trading law. I entered into a contract with BRFC, and have already paid for a 2024/25 season ticket (£500 was bad enough as it is!!), and now I'm being asked to part with another £15 for a new card (never set up any payment schemes on my phone and no wish to do so). www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/20242/april/202425-season-ticket-update/

I'm no luddite, but smart phones fail and run out of battery, especially as they age. Some still decline to own a smart phone. Having spent hundreds on a ticket, it's reasonable to expect the recive a bloody ticket. Sort it out, Rovers: they're the foundation on which the club is built.

From the BRFC site: "Fans will still be able to request a physical season ticket card, which will cost £15. Details of how to request and then purchase these will be made available in due course."
This charge should be included in the season ticket fee, why does this cost the club £15 to produce..?

I'll have to pay the £15 for a plastic ST.
Afraid I think we may of entered a 'dark age'.
Poor football,relegation, low attendances,expensive tickets,merchandise,match day food.
Hope I'm wrong. 🤞

I suspect the cost for the iFollow replacement service will SKYrocket too. Pun intended.
If it does, I may just pick and choose games rather than purchase a season ticket.

Do not upset what fans go to matches anymore than they already are with this seasons shambolic serving...

I`ve renewed my season ticket, but without a single shred of enthusiasm. Whatever happens next season, the club already has my money, but if we carry the form we displayed in the last couple of months into next season, I just shan`t go. Not going to continue leaving a nice warm pub with nice warm friends, at 2pm, to watch the awful skanky football, that blighted my winter/early spring. But, ( God help me ) I live in hope that things will improve.

I'll be 'happy' with a 5 from bottom finish next season.Maybe MT will get a decent team together.🤞 I assume Al is trying to put people off having a plastic ST and get us all digitalised. The £15 also pays for the time it takes to pack and post.

Maybe its a surcharge due the 1500 less season tickets sold so far as revealed by the nice man who deals with ticket problems in the club shop.

If the £15 was not made clear in the original terms and conditions you have the right to a full refund of the original cost.

They won’t be getting £15 off of me. They’re stinking the place out with their profiteering efforts. Bad mistake boys you’d better start examining your liquidation options there’s no profit to be had for money men in football.

Playing devils advocate here.
How long in time and how much in money would it be to pack and post eg 1500 plastic season tickets?
How much time would it take to pack and post? Wages for the packers? The cost of plastic? Etc.

From what I have seen & read so far, I don’t think Sky will offer near every home & away game for Rovers as ifollow did. I think Sky may only broadcast around 10-15 games per season for Rovers, but I could be mistaken. Although ifollow was poor quality in streaming & production it did work out very reasonable cost per game if you bought the Season Pass. I reckon we may have to face 2-3 times the ifollow price under Sky. Information is scant, if anyone has more info it would be much appreciated.

Not going to continue leaving a nice warm pub with nice warm friends, at 2pm, to watch the awful skanky football, that blighted my winter/early spring. But, ( God help me ) I live in hope that things will improve. This sums up how I feel sadly. Not a season ticket holder but I have very little enthusiasm for next season or even, sadly, any hope. Owners - have been sold a pup and will look to maximise income and cut costs. The sounds emanating from the club make it feel as if budget will be limited. Manager - MT comes across like a man whose own enthusiasm has waned and seems totally exasperated, whether that's with the players or the Board/management. Players - some triers like Thomas but overall come across as if they are going through the motions between pay days. Fans - totally divided. Barton fans who want him back and want rid of Taylor now [and have been since Barton went and MT's appointment]. Many who yearn for a past that we haven't seen for a very long time. The brief joy of DC's time with promotions and a team that was united and played for the shirt has disappeared. A lot who enjoyed the match day and the game and ignored the politics, have seen a team that at times doesn't seem bothered. Even Gas diehards seemingly disillusioned. This is perhaps the worst times I have seen, not because of the league position, but because the fans are divided, we have owners who are not interested in Bristol Rovers, the tradition, the history, the Ragbag Rovers, the Gas; but salvaging what little they can from a train wreck, financially and as a business. The heart has gone out of the team and the club. Next season may well be a crossroads in the future of the club as a whole and that is not something I say lightly. The worst is that there is very little any of us can do to change the course of the club. Perhaps that is why we no longer have any enthusiasm.

A lot of talk in other places at how this discriminates against our older supporters, who don't have smart-phones.
But what about kids who won't have any phone at all?
I don't know how this works - can adults have more than 1 account on their phone?

The club didn't care about these types of groups going cashless, I don't think they'll care about anything else but fleecing the vulnerable..
