You do not meet violence with violence. You meet violence with extreme violence. Once the target is down, keep them there. Watching the various videos it is quite obvious that the Police had asked these people to do various things, but these people were not going to do them. It's "appropriate force". We'll see what happens. What on earth is "appropriate force". That is the sort of wording used by people who have never been in a dangerous and possible life-threatening situation. The people arrested had already assaulted an Emergency Worker. Was that a Paramedic or similar? They had assaulted Police Officers, requiring three to go to hospital for treatment. What would you consider to be "appropriate force"? I'd love to know.

Just what is this nonsense about "appropriate force"? What if the copper didn't quite get it right and he didn't quite reach the "appropriate force" level required to subdue? What if that gave the target leeway to jump up and say, stab the officer, causing life-changing or life threatening injuries? and al because the officer was trying to only apply "proportional force"! Sorry, but you put them down and ensure they stay down. As it is always said, better to be tried by twelve than carried by six !

Those people attacked firearms officers, imagine your panic if you and your family were in an airport where attackers took the firearms squads weapons and ran amok, these coppers had to act fast and put these people out of the game before innocent people were injured or killed.

Exactly,I when you're on a team in a violent situation you are responsible for each others lives,i would make sure no one was able to wound or kill any of my team and i would expect the same care from the others in the team.

I meant if the attackers had got hold of the firearms squads weapons.

Family of man kicked by police left 'traumatised'..by Ewan Gawne & Tom Mullen, BBC News, Manchester.
i2-prod.dailystar.co.uk/incoming/article33324750.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_THP_5450JPG.jpg Family lawyer Akhed Yakoob seen between Amaad and Fahir The family of a man who was kicked and stamped on by a police officer at Manchester Airport have been left "traumatised", a solicitor representing them has said. Akhmed Yakoob was speaking on behalf of brothers Muhammad Fahir Amaaz and Amaad Amaaz, who were both involved in the incident. Footage was shared online of a Greater Manchester Police (GMP) firearms officer - who has since been suspended - striking a man twice as he lay prone on the floor. The force said the officer's actions came after he and other colleagues were "violently attacked" at about 20:30 BST on Tuesday. GMP said it happened after officers tried to arrest someone in the airport's Terminal 2 following a fight. A police spokesman said there was a "clear risk" their weapons could be taken from them, and three officers had been taken to hospital, one with a broken nose. i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33327446.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_Police-officer-suspended-after-Manchester-Airport-incident.jpgAkhmed Yakoob, the family's lawyer, spoke to the media outside Rochdale Police stationThe force said it understood the “deep concerns" that had been "widely raised". Four men, aged 19, 25, 28 and 31, were later arrested on suspicion of assault and affray, and all have since been bailed. The footage sparked a protest outside Rochdale police station on Wednesday night, with hundreds of people gathered, and chants of "shame on you" heard - before a second protest began in Manchester city centre on Thursday evening. Mr Yakoob said the medical condition of the man who was kicked, who he named as Muhammad Fahir Amaaz, had worsened overnight and "a CT scan has revealed there is a cyst on his brain". The solicitor also revealed the brothers are family members of a serving GMP officer. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) regional director Catherine Bates, said a "robust investigation" into the circumstances surrounding the incident would take place. She said the IOPC had since received a further referral from GMP in relation to the incident. The first concerned the use of force by an officer on a man who was detained on the ground while the second "related to the same officer’s use of [pepper spray] on another man at the airport." Ms Bates said: "We have met with members of the first man’s family today, some of whom were present during the incident, to explain our role and to listen to their concerns. We will keep them updated as our investigation continues." i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33325466.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/2_Policeman-appears-to-stamp-on-mans-head-after-tasering-in-violent-scenes.jpgA woman can be seen trying to shield the restrained man from the officerSpeaking outside Rochdale police station, Mr Yakoob said the incident was an example of "brutality". He continued: "The people who were assaulted by the police are members of a police officer's family. "This man is now afraid to go to work. He went in today and spoke to his supervisor, and the only reason he is not going to work is because he is fearing for his own safety and he thinks, like his family members were the victims, he could be a victim. "The family are OK but they are traumatised." Mr Yakoob said he had met with the IOPC but could not go into detail as it was in the "early stages" of its investigation. "For me the main concern is the family receive justice, and this no longer happens again," he said.

And I wonder how the families of the three Police officers hospitalised due to the actions of these thugs are feeling. Would rather see the Police doing some good old fashioned Policing than wave pride flags on a pride march as they were in Leeds a few days ago.

Yes, with his sneering comment he has really shown his true colours, a woman Police officer had her nose broken in the incident before the stamping happened. No doubt Aghast would expect the Police to come and help if he was ever in a violent situation,I am reminded of the blm woman in America who wanted to defund the Police....straight on the phone begging for the Police when violent car jackers took her car and broke her leg ****ing hypocrite. People need to remember that the Police come face to face every day with violent scumbags that most of us would avoid.

What about the criminal investigation of the thugs that put 3 Police Officers in hospital, one with a broken nose. Anyone see the interview on talk (via YouTube) this morning with the Lawyer representing these thugs? Good god almighty what a clown inciting racial tension. He even said the brother of his clients is a serving Police Officer in GMP but is scared to go to work as he will be killed by his Police Colleagues.

What about the criminal investigation into the three thugs ? They were arrested, that's abundantly clear from the videos. The officer suspended from all duties will probably be charged, and quite possibly face a prison sentence. The vetting and training of firearms officers will also likely come under scrutiny, as to completely lose the plot as they did would in no way be deemed appropriate in the circumstances

Manchester Airport incident: Police officer under criminal investigation for 'assault'..by Ewan Gawne & Chris Long, BBC News, Manchester.i2-prod.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article33333065.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200d/0_Policeman-appears-to-stamp-on-mans-head-after-tasering-in-violent-scenes.jpgA constable is to face a criminal investigation for assault over an attack which saw a man kicked and stamped on at Manchester Airport, the police watchdog has said. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) said it was arranging to interview the Greater Manchester Police officer under criminal caution "as soon as possible" over the alleged assault on Tuesday. The officer was suspended by the force on Thursday, after footage of a confrontation between police and two men inside Terminal 2 was widely shared on social media. The IOPC's Catherine Bates said she had met with "one of the men who was involved and his family members" and would be speaking to the other man as soon as possible. She said investigators were continuing to gather evidence and had already secured a "significant amount of body worn video and CCTV footage". The watchdog said the officer had also been served with a disciplinary notice in regards to "potential gross misconduct for a number of alleged breaches of police professional standards including his use of force". A representative said the "serving of notices" did not "necessarily mean criminal charges will follow". "At the end of our investigation, we will decide whether to refer the matter to the Crown Prosecution Service for a charging decision and decide whether the officer should face disciplinary proceedings," they added. The footage shared online showed a man being kicked and stamped on by an officer as he lay prone on the floor. Following the incident, Greater Manchester Police said firearms officers had been "violently attacked" in a parking area after trying to make an arrest at about 20:30 BST. The force said three officers had been taken to hospital, one of whom had suffered a broken nose. Four men, aged 19, 25, 28 and 31, were arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and had since been bailed. A number of peaceful protests have taken place following the incident. On Wednesday, crowds gathered outside Rochdale police station and chanted "shame on you", while roads and tram lines were blocked by demonstrators in Manchester city centre on Thursday. Earlier, Paul Waugh, the MP for the two men's home town of Rochdale, said their "traumatised" family had appealed for "calm in all the communities". Ms Bates said the family had asked her to "reiterate their call for peace" and wanted to "stress that they do not condone any acts of violence as a result of this incident". "We are meeting with a number of community leaders in Rochdale this afternoon to listen to their concerns and explain our role," she added. The watchdog previously said it was also investigating the use of an incapacitant spray during the incident. Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said the "overwhelming" feeling in the region was that there was a need to "move forward" after an "intense and difficult week".
