Somerset pair share record stand in a big win v Hampshire..i2-prod.somersetlive.co.uk/incoming/article9317869.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/1_PPA_Somerset_v_Essex_Eagles_310524_pm_017.jpgTom Abell and Sean Dickson shared a record Somerset fourth-wicket partnership of 144 from 68 balls as the defending champions thrashed Hampshire by 63 runs at Taunton. Abell's unbeaten 96 from 47 enabled Somerset to post 241-5 before seamer Ben Green recorded a career-best 5-29 to complete a crushing win. Hampshire looked well-placed after reducing Somerset to 54-3 in the powerplay, with Michael Neser (2-30) taking two wickets ā but they had reckoned without the destructive capability of Abell and Dickson. The fourth-wicket pair flayed Hampshire's bowling around Taunton and, although Liam Dawson eventually had Dickson (65 from 32) caught in the deep, the skipper ā assisted by Lewis Gregory's eight-ball cameo of 18 ā took his side to a daunting 241-5. Ben McDermott (46 from 29) and James Vince gave Hampshire some hope of challenging that with an opening stand of 77 from 44 but, once both had fallen to Green in the space of three balls, the visitors' innings faltered and they were bowled out for 178.

Louis Kimber hits England's Ollie Robinson for 43 in historic over...WOWichef.bbci.co.uk/news/976/cpsprodpb/acae/live/833b1fa0-33b2-11ef-b6d2-cdce498d526f.jpg.webpEngland fast bowler Ollie Robinson was hit for 43 runs in the most expensive over in County Championship history - but shell-shocked Sussex still clung on to beat Leicestershire. Robinson was struck for eight boundaries from nine deliveries - three of which were off no-balls - by Leicestershire's Louis Kimber in the fourth and final day of their match at Hove on Wednesday. But even though the 27-year-old Kimber rewrote several record books with an astonishing innings of 243, it came in a losing cause as Division Two leaders Sussex won a thriller by 18 runs. His was the final wicket to fall when he dragged a leg-cutter from Nathan McAndrew on to his stumps with only last man Josh Hull for company. "You don't get many days like that in your career, it was unbelievable really," Kimber told BBC Radio Leicester. "It's just a shame we couldn't get over the line but personally you have to enjoy days like that. "My phone has been buzzing and the records I have broken are pretty cool. All the Sussex players congratulated me and told me I didn't deserve to be on the losing side." Robinson's over is believed to be the most expensive in all first-class cricket when there was no compliance from the bowler (i.e. bowling for a declaration). Kimber's feat is comfortably the most runs scored by a batter in one over of English first-class cricket.
