Hideous. There is so much wrong with the club at the moment. We have a 20-year-old goalkeeper who was on loan at Hungerford and are only away from the relegation places because of a 35-year-old striker who we got lucky with. Barton left a terrible mess behind him but Taylor should be doing better than this.
His first priority when he came in should have been to send Cox back to Brentford and bring in an experienced keeper and two centre-backs.

I wonder if Fleetwood's current woes can be dated back to his reign? Friend was signed on the back of the MS charity game and Martin was signed because he happened to be in Bristol. Cox was signed (from the same club!) despite the deeply unhappy experience with Balcombe last season. Brown is a decent player but was signed because he happened to be available after being released by Exeter FC. Hunt was basically found by rooting around in the free transfer waste-bin. He and Jennings were clearly winging it towards the end, as the club's recruitment was amateurish and opportunistic. However, like I said, Taylor should be doing a better job with what he has. Around 10th-11th is not unreasonable. I think we will finish 16-17th. |

Taylor has inherited a team riddled with long-term injuries. This has meant the inability to field a settled side, particularly in defence. Wilson, Friend and Krama - experienced defenders on whose shoulders so many hopes were pinned - have missed as many games as they've played. Who signed them? JB.

No real quality brought in. Difficult to see any significant improvement next from this manager.
Accept he is a hard worker, with some passion but assuming he has resources needs some hard work over the Summer.

Woke up for just the last 20 minutes... thank goodness. If that last 20 were like the rest of the game then MT should be fuming, I certainly am. EVERY attack fell apart in the final third, the only way we looked like scoring was through a penalty which we got... and missed. Woeful, just woeful. I'm willing to write this season off, then it's over to the new owners to back MT with MAJOR player investment. Fail to do that and we'll be favourites for the drop. So here we are again at the tail end of yet another mediocre season building for the next. The story of Bristol Rovers in a nutshell. |

Having said this - at the moment - this season is still better than last.
The main problem is that our expectations were raised unreasonably by the previous regime.

Given Lincoln's current form I can only see a big loss coming. Can't find the enthusiasm to get up at 4:00am for this one so giving it a miss. That probably means we'll get a last minute winner in a 4-3 victory UTG  I can see you are online Jeff, you were spot on with the big loss coming quote, there are many things to put right in the pre-season, we have a big squad to dismantle first... |
