We are now being described as Bristol in the match report on the official website.
What ******* idiot is running it? Clearly not a fan or anyone with an iota of basic English football knowledge.

Since Keith brookman left as media manager its run by students Checked the other site and the club website has been outsourced. It's definitely taken a down turn in the last few weeks. I get outsourcing in business, but in the football business it makes less sense.

Since Keith brookman left as media manager its run by students Has it occurred to you that the British attitude to education is one of the main reasons we are so far behind our continental brethren? The UK is the only country that I have come across where 'student' is used as a derogatory term. Even those educated at university use it to distance themselves from people currently bettering themselves from education, and express some kind of primitive and half-formed notion of working-class solidarity with those who never bothered to benefit from education. In my experience, British workers and managers are also too meat-headed to acknowledge that the only way that you learn is by making mistakes. Point out the mistake and encourage them to do better, and most will. The Germans and French get it, why don't we? Was Brookman a better media manager than commentator? Wouldn't be hard, would it?

Just be thankful it wasn't 'Bristol City'. No doubt this will come - this almost inevitably follows 'Bristol', as surely as night follows day.....

Those who know these things will tell you the club gave an opportunity to a nice young Rovers fan to update the club website and bring it back up to speed which it certainly hasn't been for some time. The young man told the club to stuff it on Saturday when his reward for a reasonabley responsible role in keeping us all up to date was to be offered less than the minimum wage.Good luck Matt this January window, things may be difficult recruiting new players if the club can't find a minimum wage for a devoted fan.

In the match report the lead opens with ‘Bristol Rovers’, so the context is given. The article goes on to use ‘Rovers’, ‘Bristol’, and ‘the Gas’, so I don’t really see the problem at all especially as it’s on a Bristol Rovers site.
For SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and related SERP ranking on Google it is also pretty good to use a mix of relevant keywords and phrases that relate to Bristol Rovers, one of which is of course ‘Bristol’.

If that's true, and I have no reason to suspect our bondigas of deception, then that's a bit of an embarrassment. As for funding staff wages, Rovers would have taken more on Boxing day if the capacity wasn't eight bloody thousand*, not to mention me getting a ticket. EDIT *incorrect information inferred from matchday radio, attendance actually 9176.

9176 waa the attendance far more than 8000 you quoted I see you're right, and I'm glad capacity's increasing, but it's still not a patch on what it was, affecting income, and I suspect a lot more were denied Boxing Day Rovers.

I read it and then compared it to a previous match report (had to go back to 11th November to find one!) 'Bristol' grates and should never be written as part of a report on our official site. The comparison suggested to me that this latest one was written by someone who has been heavily influenced by their education, where s/he/they was/were told to avoid descriptive repetition. Hence Rovers, Gas, Pirates. But there is no need, previous reports read very well with just the use of Rovers. Maybe that message could be passed on. On the credit side this match report was much more detailed that the previous one, so it's not all bad. Just room for a little improvement.

That is so us though. We have so much talent within our own fanbase yet TG feels it necessary to outsource. I turned up, just the once, to help clear the pitch. The intimation, amongst others who did the same was that a ticket would have been appropriate, I believe they used to do that. What was offered was a pie/pastie and hot drink, a few did not manage to get that as they had run out by HT
