Have been fined £120:000 for their fans rather boring behaviour of homophobic chanting at...yep .. Brighton...LTFC's first game back in the Premiership,which they lost 4-1, was marred by the pathetic behaviour of a bunch of idiots......but other than the return game I doubt they will get another chance to return to the South Coast club for a while as they will be relegated....

The FA issued the Hatters, who accepted a charge of misconduct in relation to crowd control, with a two-year action plan to improve fan behaviour. Luton, promoted to the top flight for the first time in 31 years in May, said any fans identified over the chants will be banned by the club. Luton lost the match at Brighton 4-1 on 12th August. Luton said they are "an inclusive, family-oriented club" which "abhors abusive chanting such as this and has a zero-tolerance policy towards discrimination of all kinds". "Those involved were committing a criminal offence and anyone subsequently identified will be issued with a club ban and face potential police investigation," Luton said in a statement. "Luton Town has worked with supporters in recent seasons to help form the Rainbow Hatters supporters' group for members of the LGBTQ+ community, who meet regularly to share their experiences of watching the Hatters. "We will work further with supporter groups to educate and inform on all forms of discriminatory acts to ensure that watching Luton Town is a safe and welcoming experience for everyone." Luton sit 17th in the Premier League with six points from their opening 12 games, winning once, and they return to action on Saturday against Crystal Palace at Kenilworth Road.

The game was suspended in the 65th minute with the score at 1-1Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer is still in hospital and undergoing "tests and scans" after suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch during Saturday's Premier League match at Bournemouth. Luton said Lockyer "is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined". Both sets of players were taken off midway through the second half as Lockyer received medical treatment. The game at the Vitality Stadium was eventually abandoned. The 29-year-old was responsive as he was carried off on a stretcher to applause and taken to hospital. On Saturday, Luton said Lockyer was "stable and currently undergoing further tests". A day later the club provided an update, saying, "We understand that supporters are concerned for him and that there is widespread media interest in his condition," before adding that updates on the player "will be released via the club's official channels when the time is right". "We all want the very best for Tom, his partner Taylor and the whole Lockyer family, and politely ask that his and their privacy is respected at this difficult time." Following confirmation the game was abandoned on Saturday, both the Luton and Bournemouth players came back out on to the pitch to applaud the supporters, with Hatters manager Rob Edwards visibly emotional. Lockyer collapsed during the play-off final win against Coventry in May and was taken to hospital. He subsequently had heart surgery and was given the all-clear to return to playing in June. "Our thoughts are with Tom Lockyer and all players involved in today's match." Luton called for players, staff and supporters "to come together" in support of Lockyer and his family. "We are sorry to all supporters present that players from both sides were in no state of mind to continue with the game after seeing their much-loved team-mate and friend taken off like that and staff could not carry on with managing the game in such circumstances," Luton said. "We thank everyone for the wonderful applause and singing of Locks' [Lockyer's] name inside the stadium at such a difficult time." Bournemouth responded to Luton's update on Lockyer's condition, saying: "We're relieved to hear Tom is responsive." Lockyer collapsed during the second half at the Vitality Stadium and both sets of players were taken off the pitch while he received treatment. The game was eventually abandoned. In a statement on Sunday, Luton said Lockyer was still in hospital undergoing "tests and scans" and "is awaiting the results before the next steps for his recovery are determined". The defender also collapsed during Luton's play-off final win against Coventry in May and was taken to hospital. He subsequently had heart surgery and was given the all-clear to return to playing in June, with Lockyer saying at the time that his heart had been "checked and double checked", and that all the scans and tests had "come back positive". Professor Aneil Malhotra, a cardiologist who works with several Premier League teams, says the 29-year-old will have been subjected to stringent tests before being allowed to play again. "Our understanding of conditions affecting the heart has evolved and an athlete-centred approach has been adopted, where one can reduce potential harm while supporting the player to follow their aspirations," he told 5 Live Breakfast. "He will have been appropriately risk-assessed prior to returning to play and would have been under close surveillance as a result of that."

The Hatters skipper is recovering after being discharged from hospital where he was fitted with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator. And Luton CEO Sweet applauded those who resuscitated Lockyer within two minutes of him collapsing. “It took two minutes from the point of going down to be resuscitated,” Sweet said. “It’s impressive, the actions of those protocols which ultimately saved him. “They are all heroes, the Luton medical team, the Bournemouth medical team, the doctors and the paramedics were all exemplary. We cannot thank them enough. “Absolutely (there is more to life than football). Immediately when it happened we did not care about the game, it was not on our minds. It was all about his recovery.” Lockyer has started a period of recovery and is expected not to feature for Luton in the coming weeks and months and Sweet admitted the issue has been challenging to deal with and has been a learning experience for the club. He added: “We’ve never done this before. It’s all learning for us. It’s thrown so many challenges our way and it’s been one very big challenge this week. This has all been about team spirit and gathering around Tom. It's impressive. The actions of those protocols which ultimately saved him. Woodrow used his coat as a makeshift sling when carrying out his post-match interview after netting in the 96th minute to help Luton avoid a replay with the Toffees. "James Tarkowski fell on me accidentally, I felt it crack so I was in a bit of shock for a while," Woodrow told BBC Sport. The 29-year-old's dramatic winner was in contrast to the rest of the game, which felt underwhelming for large parts with both sides lacking a clinical edge. Everton defender Vitaliy Mykolenko put through his own net late to give Luton a half-time lead, unable to get out of the way as Alfie Doughty's delivery from a corner arrived at the near post.
