So who is optimistic that the Gas can get back into the second tier of the football league within the next year or two, Irrespective of whether AM carries on as manager and continues building on the positive groundwork JB has brought to the club.
Or a experienced member of the cloth is brought in and carries out exorcism off all things Joey maybe a Monk who has done it before

Promotion to the second division is more than I ask. I'd rather find a way to be sustainable in the third, than gamble the club in the second. I'd like not again to fall to the fourth: that shrinks the club. Win more than we lose in the third is the extent of my demand, and grow the club with a view to being a viable second division club in the longer term. I totally understand the urgency and impatience felt, but I do think we're a few years away from promotion. Clarke and Coughlan tried to prove me wrong, though, so you never know!
EDIT: what are you on about, now, Mike?

On the field, last night Gas trashed Newport 1-0, and with a little more cutting edge at the business end it could and should have been more like 6 -0.The two fluffed chances by JM only confirmed why the signing of JCH is vital to ensure a promotion challenge.
For me this is the most talented group of players ever to don the blue and white quarters and I could only imagine what the Newport players were thinking when subs Martin and Sinclair came on.
Now a run of five games unbeaten, and with the players are giving there all for AM and his coaching staff, no doubt boosted by the knowledge AM is not going to throw any of them under a bus. So can the forum buy into the possibility of promotion within a year or two especially as we do have a reputation as glass half full.

Promotion is possible especially if the team can keep getting the results they are now but to call them the most talented Rovers team ever discredits those who have gone before finishing a lot higher in the pyramid than this lot.

I can't remember the order DC put his three requirements in, but talent wasn't number one.

Yep your right! iam getting ahead myself there has been dozens of quality players over the years, to name a few: Bradford, Smash and Grab, Ball, Randall, Martyn, Roberts, Cureton, The Latvian, Wally, Lambert the list is endless, although league and cup success less so impressive. I guess it’s more a case of this current group of very skill full individuals gelling as a team and the exciting potential that could ensue. Now 14 days left to vote UTG

With Everton's points deduction today,if we go up and they go down ,hope they get their new ground sorted as I don't want Rovers playing in grounds that aren't as good as ours!!!! what with our new stand and all.

They are only 2 points from safety. This season is a good season for them to lose 10 points.

How about Gareth Southgate as our new manager as he’s getting sacked in the morning?
