Well if it's true Harry - get your skates on to BetVictor... still 2-1.

If a bookmaker is still offering 2-1 on a done deal, then... nothing. Bookmakers must know better than to keep betting olen at 2-1 on a done deal.

Well if it's true Harry - get your skates on to BetVictor... still 2-1. I have never ever bet on football so not starting now .. the bookies always win. Against gambling completely when the fun stops..give the money to Brfc instead for Jch transfer pot. An informed appraisal based on being involved in football for five decades or more guess what I would expect an appointment by the weekend If I am correct I hope I get the well done Harry for predicting it. Ps Joey Barton 33 to 1 with bookies for Bcfc82 head coach job?

So it's merely a prediction. I think it might come true, personally, but misrepresenting a prediction as knowledge is poor form, Jay, and I think you know it. Are you still an official club historian?

Are you still an official club historian? A historian can still have an opinion I am not linked or work for Brfc 1883 I'm a fan since 1967. I don't get paid by anyone except his majesty's government..poor form what you on about?

Of course you may have any opinion, my dear old thing, but you may be called out for it when apparently presenting it as confirmed fact. That's what's 'poor form', good fellow. I think Garry (not Gary) Monk might be the best available choice, but I know little about others. I would favour him over Dean Holden, with whom media are suggesting Rovers have held talks.

Has Olly retired completely now from management? Don't know what anyone else thinks? Guess he hasn't been successful for a fair while now and been out of the game for a bit.

Holloway's day has passed as a manager. He would make more sense as the director to recruit the coaching staff than as the manager, now, but I don't know whether he has the competence or nous for this. He was great for us once, but I doubt this would be repeated. I think he's better at celebrity than football now, and his type of celebrity may have had its day, too. Worse, we've already tried that celebrity formula, with shameful results. Move on?

I forgot the extra R now corrected as i say an opinion Garry Alan Monk (born 6 March 1979) is an English football manager and former professional player who played as a centre back, and was most recently the manager of Championship club Sheffield Wednesday. His managerial career includes spells at Swansea City, Leeds United, Middlesbrough and Birmingham City.

I’m just grateful we don’t have a new thread for every manager someone thinks might be the new manager followed by a question mark

I'm almost old enough (though my dad told me this), to remember when Albert Prince-Cox was appointed our Manager in 1930.
He was selected from almost 200 applicants for the Manager's job.
With a wage of a tenner a week he achieved 3 consecutive top-half positions in the 3rd Div South.
An overdraft of £16k was dealt with during his 6-year tenure.
And then, 12 years of Brough Fletcher and 18 years of Bert Tann, life was good for a Rovers fan . . . well it was for me!
#UpTheROVERS... we would shout.

I'm surprised there's been little mention of Gareth Ainsworth, a colourful chap who has had some success getting out of this division in the right direction. I'd favour him over Monk, I'd favour anyone over Holden.

A real character he arrived for interview for job in a red sports car smoking a cigar. He arranged a tour to Hilland to play their national team and Milan in a friendly

If true, I find it a mild appointment. What I like is, he was with Swansea through the divisions to Prem and I've always found him a warm manager to the fans. What I don't like is he hasn't been successful for years. It could be a lot worse, a bit better, but as always jury is out (for me) until he hits that GC benchmark. Yes indeed, That’s quite a benchmark!. I have missed his honesty and frankness in interviews regardless of performance, after listening, I always got a hankering for a pie and a pint dunno why?….Also quite happy if Garry Monk joins us.
