Ok, most of us can remember playing up there if not visited the becoming Burslem, with happy or less than happy memories.
I remember drinking Thatchers Gold in their club house cheaper than at the Mem - in a glass - them accepting cash!? My, how a year has changed both our fortunes?
Last season was the catalyst for anyone whom ventured. We played them off the park after conceding, and with a big crowd behind them, silenced them quickly.
If Lofty scores we're on the pitch, he duly dinked a graceful finish and we complied - some kids were invited on to post match celebrate and send the away end into excstatic belief we had a real chance of promotion.
They said we were the best team they'd played. Can we deliver similar again?
A tricky fixture, but I see their defence as a very weak spot and vulnerable. The attack options, one's alright the other's sh!te are barely average.... they're a team off form and they need a desperate injection of confidence.
I hope JAB picks a team to do a professional job.
0-2 Gas win and safe journey everyone! UptheGas...

We're on the right road, a direction that may well see us be challengers next time.
Against Derby County or Wednesday (pre coffee), at the Mem,there was a couple of passing episodes from Rovers, slick, accurate with the opposition 'chasing shadows'.These moves did'nt result in a goal,I think only one of them in an attempt at goal ,so we are still learning, but it was football of a high standard,as good a quality i've seen from Rovers.
Continue 'doing our thing' and we'll give all a game in the 3rd tier.
Maybe Jed will be selected.Let's hope he's now at a level to challenge Belly. It'll be like a new signing.
Come on Rovers!

We have played Port Vale 71 times W24, D19, L28, Biggest win 4-0, loss 4-0 and there has been 3-3 & 4-4 draws.
Port Vale were founded in 1876 are known as the Valiants and play at Vale Park which has a capacity of 15,036.
The club has a fierce rivalry with Stoke City, as City are based in the town of Stoke-upon-Trent, but only a small percentage of residents in the town are Vale fans.
Port Vale also maintain a fiery rivalry with Crewe Alexandra, which has taken on greater significance since Stoke were promoted to a higher league than Vale at the end of the 2001–02 season. One study in 2019 ranked the Port Vale-Stoke City rivalry as the joint-28th biggest rivalry in English professional football, with the Port Vale-Crewe Alexandra game being the 14th biggest rivalry. Vale also maintain rivalries with Shrewsbury Town and Walsall, as well as less significant rivalries with Burton Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Macclesfield Town.
Ex-Gas at Vale are Matty Taylor, Ellis Harrison and until a few days ago manager Darrell Clarke..Club President is John Rudge.
The appearance record is held by Roy Sproson with 842 & the goalscoring record is held by Wilf Kirkham with 164.
Port Vale are currently in 18th place and the mighty BRFC are in 15th...an away win beckons IMO.

Lost second leg of a play off semi there 1-0.I was a Cop in Staffs for 25 years and when we played there I asked the boss if I could walk the pitch perimiter.Devon White committed a foul outside the Box and the Ref gave a pen.I was livid but wasn't able to intervene sadly. The comments from the Gaffer in my ear piece added to my anguish!!! Also remember a fan being dragged off and his 'T' shirt was emblazoned,'TOTE END' which the locals asked me to explain!!!

We need to wake up and soon.
Keep this up and we'll be on the wrong end of a hiding.
Why are we such slow starters?

Fingers crossed Jed has a good game. Gibbons in against his previous team.Quansah on bench. A 4 3 3 I guess. We are playing 4-3-3 by the set-up, it's good Jed is getting time on the pitch, we are mathematically safe now and can blood more with game time. It had to happen with Ellis and sure as eggs are eggs Taylor will leap off the bench in the 2nd half and will want a goal for himself too.

Not that I've seen every game but that has to be one of our worst 45 mins of the season.

It's gonna have to be a tale of two halves, JB will be working hard to turn this embarrassing display in the 1st half around.
We have had 64% of the play with no shots on target, PV have had 4 on target, scoring 2...
Come on Rovers show some fight and bring at least a point back home.
