Joe has said Jed will start at least one of our remaining games.
He wants to know if he'll be a serious challenge to James for next season.
In the scenario he is,then great but if not we'll be in the market for another GK.
The manager sees Jed as our future number 'one' and wants to know whether that'll be sooner or later.

personally I would play Jed in all the remaining games where possible. They are free hits really and the experience will be beneficial. Obviously if he has a stinker and needs protecting by being taken out of the team than that's fine. No slight on Jed. I would just try and make the most of the games.
Sod any bleating from opposition teams who may have things to play more, Jed is a professional contracted footballer

The 2nd sentence is exactly what happened in our final game last season with Scunthorpe's goalkeeper and others, they were being given time on the pitch.

Makes the Balcombe signing look even more ridiculous.
I’d do the same with Ryan Jones too. Based on the one game I saw him play for Hungerford I think he is a real prospect

Was surprised to see how tall Jed is as he walked over to the bench last couple of games.
Not sure if he's had a sudden growth spurt. Can't remember him looking like that before, or at least didn't seem as tall.

Bristol Rovers' most local of lads now has clear sight of what has been the inevitable target..by Daniel Hargraves.Obviously, that partly comes down to Belshaw's permanent exit as the 33-year-old re-joined Harrogate Town having been on an emergency loan at the League Two club prior. It's not been an easy campaign for a player who is held in the highest regard amongst Gasheads after leaving initially for Forest Green Rovers in September before a recall was, according to him, blocked by the hierarchy while Andy Mangan was in charge. However, what the experienced 'keeper did to help out Ward during his two-and-a-bit year spell with the Gas was enough for the local lad to label Belshaw as an "idol." The 20-year-old played three EFL Trophy games and one in League One while his fellow goalkeeper was also at the club having made his debut away at Blackpool in Rovers' final game of the 2020/21 season having already been relegated to League Two. There's obviously something about the youngster who was evidently well-liked by former boss Joey B***** as well Mangan and now Taylor but the relationship he has with Belshaw is clearly something special with the now-Harrogate shot-stopper reserving a special message pre-game for his former Padawan. "I just checked my phone there and saw Belly texted me," smiled Ward when asked about his relationship with the former Rovers 'keeper. "Belly has been absolutely unreal with me. He’s someone to learn off and a really good idol is what I’d say. "He’s taught me a lot throughout the years, being a first-year pro, he was there, and up until recently he’s been there every step of the way with me. "To learn off of him was absolutely excellent because he’s an unreal goalkeeper and he did amazing things at this club so it’s something I want to do and I aspire to be like him." i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9064978.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200e/0_3514026.jpg Jed Ward warming up before Bristol Rovers' EFL Trophy clash with Newport County back in November

Another accolade for Jed Ward, he's been named in the League One Team of the Week, along with Brendon Aguilera.

Jed Ward makes England U20s debut after breakthrough Bristol Rovers campaign..By Daniel Hargraves.i2-prod.bristolpost.co.uk/incoming/article9331599.ece/ALTERNATES/s810/0_GettyImages-2144153166-1.jpgJed Ward played the full 90 minutes for England Under-20s on Friday afternoon as they beat Sweden Under-21s 2-1 in a friendly, earning the Bristol Rovers goalkeeper his first cap for the Young Lions. The 21-year-old earned his first call up back in March but didn't make an appearance with James Beadle then the shot stopper used but now the young shot stopper has a deserved cap to his name after a breakthrough season with the Gas. 2024 has been a whirlwind for Ward so far after establishing himself as Rovers' first-choice goalkeeper in League One as a 20-year-old alongside two call-ups for England Under-20s and signing a new four-year contract in March, particularly when considering he started the 2023/24 season on loan in the National League. After the arrival of Matt Cox on loan from Brentford, Ward joined Wealdstone on a season-long loan last summer but was recalled in November due to a shortage of shot stoppers ahead of the Gas' EFL Trophy match at Newport County. Former interim manager Andy Mangan played the then-20-year-old who kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 victory but had to wait another two months before playing for Rovers. Matt Taylor opted to give the academy product a chance in between the sticks at the end of January, throwing him in for Rovers' 3-1 win over Oxford United and Ward hasn't looked back since, going on to play 17 of the remaining 18 matches after a man of the match display against the U's. During that time, the 21-year-old kept five clean sheets with a number of excellent performances and, having come through the academy and hailing from Bradley Stoke, Gasheads will be keen to see the youngster retain his first-choice status going into the new campaign.

Jed played again for the England U20 vs Ireland U21. Final score 2-2.
I'm delighted to see him doing so well but the downside is, he is putting himself in the shop window. Rumours are already flying that a premiership club is taking interest.
