Interesting, in his post match interview after last night's game he says " I've spoken to Tom about the pitch and the owner" Has the love in with Wael evaporated, normally it's lavish praise in interviews from Barton in what a great owner Wael is and how lucky he is to have an owner like him. Is this the journey's end, has the drawbridge been lifted, with luck for Barton it might well be.

In fairness, the pitch isn't as good as it has been the past few years, and I'd noticed some weeks back it wasn't looking as good, and that stud-marks were soon showing during play. But it's still far, far better than it used to be.
It's improved since it started to be re-laid each summer. And the problem with the spring on the edge of the penalty area (nearest the tunnel) seems to have been sorted.
For a number of years we were sharing with the rugby. So the pitch was being used more often, there was less rest time for the pitch, less time for the ground-staff to work on it, and you could see the wear marks down the sides from line-outs.
There are far worse surfaces up and down the country.
The thing that always makes me scratch my head is the sprinklers on before the start of each half, even if it's been tipping down with rain in the morning!

In all fairness, Real Madrid's pitch looked a bit worse for wear last night. Could it be the war?

Success? It seems that the .pretty inconsistent form, continual messing about with team selection and avoidance of relegation.if that is what you call success then you've lost me Lessons will be learnt. In that respect it's a successful first season back in a very competitive 3rd tier. Without any bias, do you think JB made a rod for his own back by suggesting play offs and promotion ? Personally i love ambition but, give our infrastructure and inability to get a stadium built, do you not think he would have served himself, and the club better, by saying he expects a steady season with us staying up and then building upon that, next season. You see, i have really tried to warm to him but i think he sometimes just lets fly and without any real thought to what he says. Our crowds have stayed in a nice area even with this as we are all starved of success. Where do you think we will be in , say, 3 years time Basel ? It’s a new project every season. Personally i do not think this does the players any justice as they know they are one mistake from being thrown under a bus. Would i love us to get promotion ? Of course i would, do i think we could say there ? A resounding no. If we do not get a wiggle on with stadium and infrastructure then i think we could even be in danger but that is just my own and unpopular opinion, based upon some 46-47 years of paying my own way, to watch our club. Seriously fella, where do you think we will be if we keep having to change the squad, each new season ? I am very interested in your reply. Cheers
