1. After a nervous first 25 we grew in confidence and were comfortably the better team.
2. There was more shape and movement than in any game so far witnessed this season. Great performances from Tom Lockyer, Ollie Clark, Neil Trotman and Stuart Sinclair when he came on.
3. Still lack a cutting edge up front. Taylor needs to anticipate better and be braver. He might then get luckier. Fortune favours the brave.
4. A lot more positives than negatives and our best performance for about 6 months. We now have a foothold that we can build on and the team should believe in themselves. They have nothing to fear.
5. Absolutely fantastic support from the Blue Army. Just give us something to get behind and the support will be like nothing seen at this level ever before.

For me it changed when the terrible Cunnington went off. Trotman was excellent he just needs a decent partner alongside him.

I agree there were far more positives than negatives today. Ollie Clarke was excellent - as was Mansell for the first 60 minutes. Lockyer combined well with Monkhouse and Harrison second half. However I disagree with most views I've seen about Trotman - strong in the air but very poor on the deck. With Parkes' suspect distribution I don't see these two as a long term combination in the middle of defence.
Anyway - onwards and upwards! A good point which could easily have been three. UTG

A win on Saturday against Halifax will see us only 7 points off top spot. Who remembers the infamous "thank f**k for the Halifax" chant a few years ago when we could quite easily have gone into non-league then? Onwards & upwards!!!! UTG!!!!

Much better than people on here are making out. Actually thought Cunnington did well and was getting well on top in his battle and Trotman was very good in the air and on the ground. Deserved three points but will take one and move on to the next game. Does superSteve73 actually know anything about Football? There is NEVER a positive comment from him.

Well done the lads, remember LUTON had no points after three games last season. I am not going to say we are going to win the league but we can make an impact.

Who is making out there were more negatives than positives Steve? No one as far as I can see. It wasn't perfect today but plenty of reason for optimism. A major one for me is that we played with more confidence and movement. We actually looked like we had players who believe they are playing for the biggest and best club at this level.

Much better than people on here are making out. Overall, people seem pretty positive about our performance today Steve. Not sure where you are getting a general consensus of it being anything but that? Things to improve upon of course, but I think most are being realistic in their assessments.

Decent performance today against a team who are expected to be chasing promotion. We would have gained 3 points today if luck had been on our side - their goal was a complete fluke. We were much the better team. Still a lot of room for improvement but Telford was encouraging and today even more so. Lets hope we can continue to improve against Halifax on Saturday.

He may well be a bit negative but he's not really wrong is he? I know we're all seeking light at the end of the tunnel but I can't see much from today's performance. Unfortunately I couldn't attend today but having watched my recording this evening I saw very little to encourage much optimism and although Lockyer inspired some confidence, he's plainly an unhinged liability. Frankly both teams could have won, although neither played enough decent football to even deserve a point let alone 3. Let's not forget we're playing a league below last season and should have made a much better start, we've already played almost 10% of this seasons fixtures and I really can't see any signs that we're going to be anything better than lower mid table.

No, they are pointless threads from him, all of them where he is just fishing for comments because it appeals to his childish intelligence. No one is suggesting that we've become world beaters, just that it was a world away from where we were 2 weeks ago. If you can't discern any improvement from today's performance then perhaps you had better step away from it all and leave it to those who are still interested.

I think the problem is I'm not a rose tinter, can't help that and I'm not going to suggest improvement when the base level was set so low it was difficult to either get worse or stay the same. If you're willing to point to today's crap as an improvement then so be it but we've already played 5 of our 46 games and a point a game may not be enough to guarantee our position in this league for next season.

What has being a rose tinter got to do with anything, just because I want better doesn't make me a rose tinter, in fact quite the opposite ? I've been extremely vociferous in my criticism of the board allowing us to get to where we are particularly at the various meetings the board have invited fans to ! If just seeing the negatives floats your boat well I'm not going to be critical, each to their own.
