We have played The Robins 21 times since nov 2001 - W9, D5, L7, Biggest win 3-0, Loss 3-1 and the draws have been 0-0 or 1-1.
Cheltenham Town FC were founded in 1887, play their home games at Whaddon Road, which has a capacity of 7,066.
Manager Wade Elliott is 43 and played in 793 games for Barnsley, Bournemouth, Burnley, Birmingham and Bristol C*ty, all the B's.
Forest Green Rovers are currently seen as the club's main rivals, fellow West Country sides Bristol C*ty, Bristol Rovers, Oxford United and Swindon Town are also seen as rivals.
1st team coach Marcus Bignot signed a two-year deal at Bristol Rovers in the Second Division on a free transfer in August 2000. At Bristol Rovers he played a key part in his team beating Premier League side Everton in the League Cup. It was Bignot's equaliser in the second leg that took the match to penalties, which Rovers subsequently won. Bignot also scored a memorable goal in the league against rivals Bristol C*ty after just 28 seconds, but he could not prevent his team losing 3–2.
Ex-Gas player Liam Sercombe played 127 games for us scoring 19 goals.
No reason Rovers cannot continue with last weekend's fine away form - 0-2.

That was a handy side we had back in 2000.

On "Having A Gas" the conversation spoke of our derby with Argle.
This game against the Glos Robins, although smaller, friendlier and without the long history a Rovers Argyle game offers, is still a genuine West Country derby.
I've reminded Gasheads before, imo 'Nham' deserve our friendship (or at least respect) because when it looked like the Mem was going to be knocked down and rebuilt,it was Cheltenham Town that opened up their Whaddon Road home to Rovers. This after City and Swindon told us "no",if I remember correctly.
Again if memory serves,Town spent the expected rent cash from Rovers (not their best move) and had to do a fair bit of 'belt tightening' after Mr Higgs backed out and eventually led us to the 5th tier.
Even though relegation out of the EFL ,"was'nt an option".
Although our pub industry continues to fall apart,Cheltenham still has plenty of decent pubs, for those that fancy a pint or two.Exeter away was 3 years on the wagon for me!
A good away day Cheltenham and not far to travel.
Towns form. Outclassed at Hillsborough.Wednesday 'showed their class' (David Coleman?).
Before this beating,CTFC had shown decent form, going from a spot in the bottom four to amongst the middle places, although right now below Rovers.
I noticed in a couple of games they won, they did not enjoy a high percentage of possession, but still managed plenty of shots on goal.A decent record at Whaddon Road
Joe would of no doubt done his homework.
I wonder what selection and formation we'll see today.
I've a ticket for the "Paddock" terrace today,as Rovers sold out our allocation a while ago.
Looking forward to what might be a very good West Country derby game.
Come on Rovers!
