Outstanding. Deserves every accolade and every precious stone plundered during our imperialist period when we killed and stole from other people. Let him wear some with pride

Outstanding. Deserves every accolade and every precious stone plundered during our imperialist period when we killed and stole from other people. Let him wear some with pride I think he will wear them with pride and everything that has gone on in the past is where it is, in the past. There have been many scandals and atrocities all over the world, but during our imperialist period as you say we did kill and plundered trillions from around the middle 1700's through to just before WW2, most notably of course from India, but then so did many other nations... Looking closer to home, Bristol as you know have had many words spoken recently on the Edward Colston period regarding his slave trade dealings. Like it or not it is history, the slave trade of course cannot be condoned, but EC like many of his ilk did so much for towns and cities all over the UK. I would like to see in our schools the teaching of this period in history, the good and the bad, it should not be swept under the carpet...

In my small village a community health worker has been diagnosed with Kidney Cancer. A tumor clearly visible on the MRI. She has been waiting for 5 months for an operation that will entail removing the diseased kidney. 5 months and still no booking to get this done.
Charlie boy has to wait 5 minutes and we are told to be concerned.

There is nothing wrong whatsoever with Private Health Insurance, in fact it reduces the workload on the NHS.

If the premiums are affordable which, as a District Nurse, they are not. Health funding. Something we've spoken about countless times. In Germany basic health insurance costs 15% of your wages, with normally your employer paying half (7.5%). It is a Gold Standard health service. The exact amount you pay is detailed on your pay slip. You know what you are paying for the level of service supplied. You can pay more for a higher level of healthcare but you only pay for one, not both as would be th case in the UK. How much do you pay in the UK? Nobody knows, so you cannot compare what you pay with the level of service provided. Private Health care is affordable if you only have to pay for one, not two. Nothing will change in the UK because "our NHS" has become almost a religion. The media and politicians continue to peddle the myth that it is free. It is not

It is not I think this is one thing we can agree upon. The health system in the UK is broken (witness the ridiculous queues in Bristol yesterday to sign up to a new NHS dental practice) and needs root and branch reform. We need politicians to be honest about it (which party is irrelevant) and stop over promising. Don't hold your breath

Jesus Christ [ Really , well that must be area wise as on a mri for prostrate cancer 3 yrs ago they picked up I had a cyst on one of my kidneys , the latest prostrate mri showed that cyst had now changed to what they believed was a complex cyst , after a biopsy it was found to be cancerous, I have been told I will be having a section of my kidney taken away , I go in next 2 weeks As someone who has prostrate cancer , kidney cancer , heart murmur , irregular heart beat , diabetic , high blood pressure , circulation issues in legs feet I can only say the nhs have been brilliant with me , some times it would of been nice to have a week / two to take it all in , as I say maybe a area thing , my kidney is being done by a Ben Jackson ( Leicester ) kidney specialist Nb don’t get your hopes up , apparently everything is treatable !!

I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer back in 2014 and caught it before it caught me out, thanks to the diligence of my then GP. He referred me in the Feb of 2014 and tests, MRI, biopsy all done by June and I had a Radical Laparoscopic Prostatectomy in August. Going under I was 3/4 (7) on the Gleason Scale, the histology post op made it 4/3, aggressive/non aggressive. Post op analysis on surrounding tissue showed zero margin so I am in effect cured. That was in Hertfordshire and the local general hospital had just had £250 million of investment. Just goes to show. Either way, good luck with yours.
