It's increasingly looking like a smaller basket case version of football. The Clubs are paying the players too much money and are not sustainable. Pantsdown reckons Clubs simply need to "generate more revenue". www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/62992223This is total nonsense. Premiership Clubs have accumulated £500mil of debt. Some of this is down to Covid admittedly. However the main problem is down to Clubs not balancing their books, and the main reason for this is players salaries. Covid exacerbated the problem. Bristol "bears" (WTaF) are OK because Pantsdown will continue to bail them out. This doesn't end well.

Just had a quick look at Wasps history on wiki... "In 1990, (Rob) Andrew captained Wasps to their first Courage League title". No he bloody didn't! It was my cousin, David Pegler.

There is very little on the internet about the early leagues and the pre-professional era. Bit like football. My son says that before the pemiersh*t there was no football, like it was invented in 1993. To be fair he was born in 1994 though...

Rugby tried to be too big, too fast. How many of the Premiership rugby clubs actually own their own ground? I must admit I haven't looked it up.
