Just got back from the game....
Back 4 completely clueless
Parkes was utter utter rubbish
Midfield ok against a poor side except Bob Monkhouse had a bad game
Front 2 again looked good but up against a poor team
Don't get me wrong we played some good stuff but against a team that will struggle this year

Bloody hell did we need that. Cagey first half, long balls everywhere, misplaced passes, lack of communication....then we scored.
Changed the game completely. Players seemed to relax and space started to open up. We started to play!
Plenty to work on but it's good to just go into a Sunday with a win for once!
Monday is going to be a much bigger, harder test though. Make no mistake about it, Telford were abysmal.
Trotman my MOM.

The reality is that the quality of football that we have seen in this league is not good and it is a poor testament to our own team that we have not won them comfortably. There were flashes of skill particularly by Taylor but we dont seem to be operating as a team and we need a midfield general to pull the strings and dictate the game . Godfrey Poku the Telford number 20 put on the kind of display that we lack. People bang on about the quality in this League but, apart from the odd 2/3 teams league 2 was shockingly poor as well. There really is,imo,no difference in the standard of football at all apart from the odd game. Last season I honestly came away from the Scunthorpe game thinking that I had just watched a good side. Plenty of others were made to look good by Rovers mind because we were so poor and havent been a `team` for years.

The defence have been the downful in the opening games.

No tongue in cheek, I have come to terms with the fact that a losing disease is running right through the club and we are suffering a massive hangover from last season which is understandable considering we are only 4 games in and 2 weeks into the new season. If i was offered 4 points from the first 4 games , two clean sheets and unbeaten at home i would have happily taken it. I don't understand why anybody thought we were going to rock up in this division and turn over the likes Grimsby & Barnet on the back of 4 years of horrific results. The first part of this season will be slow and steady and i'll take a mid table position come xmas rather than a position in the bottom 4. So if you would have accepted 4 points from 4 and unbeaten at home at the start of the season you would have also accepted losing to a part time team? Blimey, the life and expectations of Gasheads these days. I agree with you that mid-table is where we'll be, not just for Xmas but for the majority of the season. But I would take us finishing just outside relegation if it meant Higgs and his cronies were replaced with a new team of investors. Coming to terms with the fact that we are a shambolic shower of s**te is one thing, accepting it is another.

The biggest positive I got from todays game is that I think Telford will finish below Rovers.

The defence have been the downful in the opening games. Saying that....two clean sheets and no goals conceded at home. Got to be one of the small positives so far this season... For what it's worth, I thought Brown and Trotman did well today. Lockyer is not a rightback (centre back!) and Parkes is like Jekyll and Hyde. Made an unbelievable tackle today and then followed it up with a crazy pass to their right winger! I just can't get my head around him as a player!

Don`t know what`s wrong with Parkes. He was abysmal against Altrincham too.
