Wow tis hot out there...
UK heatwave sees 40.2C with temperatures still rising
The UK has recorded a temperature of over 40C (104F) for the first time - as the heat continues to rise.
Thermometers hit 40.2C at London Heathrow at 12.50 BST, breaking a record temperature registered just two hours earlier.
Roads melting and power cuts have been reported as the UK swelters in the building heat.
At least five people have died in and around water over the past two days amid warnings about the dangers.
Emergency services are experiencing a rise in 999 calls as they face the pressure of the extreme heat, with the World Meteorological Organisation warning that the UK and other affected countries should expect more deaths among the elderly and vulnerable.
Meanwhile, provisional figures showed the UK experienced the warmest night on record from Monday into Tuesday.
Emley Moor in West Yorkshire is likely to have broken that record, where 25.9C was recorded overnight, according to the Met Office.

43.5 here but that is not unusual. We had 42 degrees about three weeks ago. It normally reaches 40 degrees every Summer in Central Europe. Enjoy it π
Don't let the British media scare you.

I hope youβre not following the Gloucestershire stream, looking a bit miserable. Better to watch England... oops, perhaps not. π The Somerset stream was ok on both days and good to watch! π

Just like to add.......It's 39 here today. Last Wednesday hit 45 degrees. It hasn't been below 28 degrees for the last three weeks. But no trains cancelled. No train tracks warping. No airport runways being closed. No huge countryside fires. No stories of houses burning down. No media stories of impending doom and destruction In fact, life goes on as normal, just hotter!

Wow, i am trying to remember the last dry day in my part of the world, sunny Yate.
Probably about 2 weeks ago, it is hammering down at the moment, as it has all week.

Heavy snow closes Manchester Airport runways..ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/820/cpsprodpb/D768/production/_128344155_mediaitem128344150.jpgManchester Airport has temporarily closed both its runways following a period of heavy snowfall. The airport said the health and safety of passengers "will always be our top priority and operations will resume at the earliest opportunity". Travellers have been advised to contact their airline for flight information. The Met Office said Manchester was under a yellow weather warning, with wintry showers expected to bring "further disruption from ice and snow". One passenger, Dec, tweeted that there had been more than two hours of snow delays at the airport, adding: "Just another hour to sit on the plane going nowhere."

while it may be unfortunate to be involved in a road accident as a result of the weather and as a result there is damage to the vehicle, there have been several around here of late, it is quite annoying that the debris is just left in the hedge or on the verge, half a bumper and light glass and side panels [crunched!!] likely to be there for at least a month or so
