I have read about the 1812 campaign but I had a look on Amazon and the reviews for this book are good and there are copies on E bay for very little so I will give it a go ,I am actually in the process of getting rid of books. I found it interesting that although we are told about the retreat from Moscow being a disaster (which it was ) tens of thousands dying of cold, starvation etc, we dont get told that the Grand army was in real trouble before Borodino and taking Moscow, horses dying, men starving, desertion there were also cholera and typhoid outbreaks The problem was logistics, same for the Germans in WW2 and someone should tell the latest diminutive French leader that his sabre rattling could end up with another disaster,Russia is a big place and swallows up armies who cant be supplied. Oh yes, the Grande Army suffered terribly during the advance. It was beaten even before it got to Moscow. It was never Napoleon's intention to go to Moscow, but it seems as though his ego got the better of him. Whilst I said that logistics are/were the key ,communications are taken for granted now but in the 19th century keeping in contact with dispersed troops was hit and miss,I have recently been reading about the so called 'centennial campaign' of 1876, 3 columns of troops coming from forts hundreds of miles apart and trying to converge was a recipe for disaster without communication and it was the same in Russia and at Waterloo.

Treason?? "Nigel Farage tells the BBC the West “provoked” Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by expanding the European Union and Nato military alliance eastwards" So..... IF... "our nice Nigel" became a force within the Parlimentary goings on ( not going to happen) will he be calling for a stop to the UK supplying arms and aid to Ukraine? Seems he would not like to see Spewtin hurt 🤔..

I agreed with Angela Rayner the other day (about oil) doesnt mean to say that I like her.

A guy who imprisons and kills any opposition to him, who has killed Russian nationals on foreign territory. Including in the UK one of whom was British national. And Farage admires him. Tells us all we need to know about him. And some support him. His numbers don't add up, his policies are written on the hoof on the back of an envelope and he admires fascists. And some support him.

I've just listened to that part of the interview. Farage makes it quite clear he respects Putin as an operator, not a friend. In the same way it's healthy to recognise Hitler had talent and it would be a good idea to have a respect for these talents. Stops you getting hurt and helps you hurt them. Commonsense speak. Too much commonsense for hysterical liberals it seems. Farage warned the EU about "poking the Bear" in 2014.He was heavily criticised He was right. Again.

An ex Tory minister describes him and Reform supporters best.
"Ben Wallace, the former defence minister and well-known advocate for Ukraine, described Mr Farage as a “pub bore” after the Reform UK leader’s comments.
“I think Nigel Farage is a bit like that pub bore we have all met at the end of the bar who often says: ‘Oh no, if I was running the country’, and presents very simplistic answers to actually, I am afraid, in the 21st century, complex problems,” he told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme."
Spot on Ben

Are Western politicians just incompetent or do they have a hidden agenda ? they will start a war that they wont have to fight in but which will have a catastrophic effect on the World...

Funny how so many of the ex Soviet Union bloc countries wanted to join the EU and NATO. A newly found freedom to choose and they chose. Which annoyed the corrupt, autocrats and then the fascist Putin. The apologists like Farage and Trump of course have their own "funded" agenda. The St Petersburg trolls are on bonuses now flooding our social media in support of people like Farage.
