So after generally sitting in the shadows of Real Madrid ( and getting paid rather handsomely) for something that seems like eons ...Gareth Bale gets an MBE!! ..... just wonder what for?

The official line is "Bale has been awarded an MBE for services to football and charity." "Bale donated over one million euros to hospitals in Wales and Spain in April 2020 in the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic, and has also supported other charities in his home country." So I'd give him the benefit of doubt. Perhaps does quite a bit for "charidee" but in the immortal words of Smashie & Nicey "doesn't like to talk about it". Plus he really winds up Real Madrid fans. So I'd give him an honour just for that. |
