This stuff is not what you should watch if you've had a few juniper infused drinks.
That man is so bloody strong ❤️

Both DC and JB have character.Very very different but they exude passion.Never felt that at all from BG even though we gave him a clean slate after the covid season ending early.

Top man, and good to acknowledge there was another team there today ....never afraid to say that, good luck to him,he deserves a good bit of the lighter side of life after the last couple of months for him and his family ❤️

Good write up here www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61620872. Even the Mansfield fans like Darrell! It must be impossible not to like Darrell Clarke. Small footnote - Port Vale were the only Club to lose out in the curtailed football season in 2019-20 (denied a chance of the play-offs on PPG when they had games in hand). Their owner (Carol Shanahan) decided not to appeal against the process for the greater good of the game. Great Club and of course, great manager and thoroughly decent man. Respect Darrell. Respect.

An emotionally drained Darrell Clarke dedicated Port Vale's League Two play-off final win against Mansfield Town to his 18-year-old daughter, Ellie, who died earlier this year.
The tragic loss saw the 44-year-old take six weeks away from the game, with the promotion-sealing victory at Wembley just his 11th game back.
"It is special for my eldest daughter, who I lost this year, and my family who have gone through tough times," a visibly exhausted Clarke said after the match.
He quickly followed that up by saying he "wasn't looking for sympathy" as other families endure such heartache.
But no father has done what Clarke did at Wembley. Grief, pride and elation coursed though him and spilled over in the late stages of the final on English football's biggest stage in front of more than 37,300 spectators.
"I worked so hard the last few days to control those emotions, and they all come out," he said.

Last night Robbie Williams sang to a sell out crowd at Vale Park.At the end they introduced their new shirts. What a clever marketing idea.

Looks like he performed the whole set in the new Vale shirt. And the concert raised funds for Unicef and a local children's hospice. Fair play to Mr Williams.

He is a massive Vale fan though and fair play to him, he seems to mention it in a lot of the interviews he has done. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had offered to do this. Have we got any groups or individuals who could be on the verge of stardom ?

You know, it’s funny as i was only thinking that i had not heard anything of him or even seen him on any of the talent shows etc and then, just a day later he’s in the headlines, this happened tome a fair bit

Sorry, have just started a new thread. I looked on here there was nothing apparent. By the time I’d done it bt had beaten me to it. I will delete it. Sad news, surprised but nothing in football should surprise me.
UTG!

No problem bt. And you do it better than I would! I’d say don’t go back because in his case he was getting unhappy with us because of the lack of progress with infrastructure stuff. Now we have a training ground which is a big improvement but the ground hasn’t progressed too much although fingers crossed about the latest news. But, it will still be a long time coming and we’ll have probably had 5 managers by that time! UTG!

I think we're too classy to gain anything from being smug with your soul mate ex being dumped.... especially as he has never hit the heights of when he was with us.

I dearly wanted him to rake over when Tisdale's sacking resulted in Barton rumours being leaked or floated, as I think there is such a thing as a good fit, a match, compatibility. Darrell is absolutely compatible with Rovers in many ways Barton is not. Nobody's perfect, of course, but whether it worked out or not, I would absolutely have driven the three of us to The Memorial Ground at every opportunity. Good luck to him, I say.

I don't suppose DC will be out of a managerial job come the start of next season or even before the end of this one.
