If it is just speculation by the bookies then it's an insight into their perception of Rovers as a club. i.e. Why would someone manage Rovers when they could manage the mighty Salford City or anyone else for that matter.I suspect it is more likely they have sources telling them Barton is being approached by other clubs (with or without permission). It’s no insight into Rovers at all. Any job in the North West Barton will linked to as it’s near home. Also after managing Fleetwood where there was limited atmosphere I can not see him going to Salford where there is even less.

JB new Salford City favourite for the job and on list at Forest Green too. He is vegan since Edwards left for Watford! Have you got a link for this? I’ve checked oddschecker and betfair and he’s not on the list at all there. Nothing on skybet

Looked at all the main betting sites and JB not mentioned anywhere.
Think someone is having a laugh - each to their own I suppose.

Barton odds on going to the following Clubs: Burnley 4-1 (though favourite for the job at Paddypower @ 11-8) Blackburn 33-1 QPR 50-1 Not in the running for the England, PSG or FGR job. If he does end up going to Burnley, I don't think that would happen before June 23rd.

Mike is on a pretty obvious wind up, after all he has got form on this. When i saw the post my immediate reaction was to ignore it due to that. Cry wolf enough times and this os what happens. I did have a look on twitter and the various sites and no mention of either club, not even any rumours

The new Burnley owners have done a Glazier job on them by putting them millions in debt. Barton likes things his own way with players he’s managed before who just fit in. It seems that anyone who disagrees with him is shown the door. He’s not up to a real challenge like keeping us up last season and build in his own image from there. I can’t see any of the current Burnley team being in awe of him like our lot.

What's the point in keeping staff that are singing from a different sheet the Manager has handed around? JB was up to delivering a team that competed, entertained, played great football and won promotion. He also dramatically improved things regarding back room staff and in doing so repaired Rovers conked out rudder. Personally my favourite season since Paul Randall Mk I.

Getting things right off the pitch support the 90mins on a Saturday. He had the strength of character that his predecessors didn’t in getting shot of Widdrington and Starnes. We look fitter, professional and driven on the pitch because we are exactly that off it. If a manager doesn’t have that level of control (or the means to achieve it) then he shouldn’t take the job
